Head of Marketing

New York, New York, United States; Remote (US); San Francisco, California, United States

About the role

At Thatch, weʼre on a mission to build a healthcare system people love. Thatch has found early product-market fit
and is scaling rapidly from $10M in ARR toward $100M. With strong traction through brokers and payroll
partners, the company is now ready to build a modern, unified marketing engine to expand its reach, elevate its
brand, and accelerate direct demand.

As our Head of Marketing, youʼll be the steward of our marketing vision and execution. Youʼll lead a growing
team of exceptional demand generation experts, brand, content, and product marketing managers. Youʼll partner
closely with product and engineering, design, and GTM, and will work directly with the CEO to market a platform
that serves employers, employees, brokers, and partners.

We believe great products start with care: care for the user, care for the craft, and care for the systems we're
building. You'll bring taste, product intuition, and high standards to everything you touch - while helping the entire
team do the same. This role is highly cross-functional and strategic, and weʼre looking for someone who thrives
in ambiguity, translates complexity into clarity, and pushes the work - and everyone around them - to be better.

What you'll do

  • Define and drive Thatchʼs marketing vision, strategy, and roadmap in close partnership with the CEO and
    leadership team.
  • Define and sharpen Thatchʼs product marketing foundation - clear customer segmentation, messaging,
pricing, and packaging - to equip sales and deepen understanding of why different segments buy
  • Build scalable, cost-efficient direct demand generation to complement broker and payroll channel
distribution, improving the LTV-to-CAC ratio for small and mid-sized employers
  • Elevate and broaden the Thatch brand so it resonates across industries and geographies, creating
mass-market appeal and trust beyond its current tech-forward audience
  • Lead and grow a high-performing, mission-driven marketing team, fostering a culture of ownership,
    intellectual curiosity, and thoughtful execution.
  • Champion a high bar for quality and taste in everything we ship — balancing speed with care and polish.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, ops, growth, and sales to deliver marketing messages that feel
    considered, cohesive, and empowering.
  • Guide discovery and execution across multiple surfaces, from employer and broker dashboards to member
    experiences and partner APIs.

Background we're looking for

  • 10+ years in marketing, with at least 3+ years leading all of marketing or a function within it, at a
    high-growth company.
  • Proven experience at a high-growth startup defining vision, leading cross-functional teams, and launching
    marketing campaigns.
  • A systems thinker whoʼs comfortable operating in a company with many different types of purchasers.
  • Exceptional communication skills; you can clearly articulate your thinking, inspire teams, and align
    stakeholders.

Experience we’d be particularly excited about

  • Deep, unrelenting care for customers, and the ability to translate customer desires into marketing strategy
and work that feels purpose-built for our customers.Experience in regulated industries like healthcare, where clarity, trust, and precision matter.
  • A background marketing to small-to-midsize businesses across industries.
  • 3+ years in a user-facing function (e.g. sales, support, ops) where youʼve seen the frontlines.
  • A track record of hiring, mentoring, and scaling product teams through multiple stages of growth.
  • Strong design sensibilities and belief that small details create trust.

What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly. Here's what to expect:

  • 30 minute phone screen to talk through your background and interest in Thatch
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with the hiring manager to dive deeper into your experience and the role
  • 30 minute Zoom meetings to meet six members of the team
  • 30 minute final round Zoom or In Person meeting with one of our founders

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
