Behavioral Health Specialist Float

Position Overview:
The Behavioral Health Specialist – Float is a dynamic role that supports PHP, Inpatient, and Residential milieus. The specialist is responsible for facilitating therapeutic skills groups, self-monitoring, and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support, and assisting clients in managing their eating disorders. This role ensures a recovery-oriented environment and offers general support across various sites or virtually within a specified geographic region. The float specialist steps in to provide backup coverage due to planned or unplanned PTO, recruitment gaps, and other staffing needs.
Compensation Range:
$25.00 - $35.00
Schedule:
- Float hours oriented around programming M-TH 7a-7p; F 7-3:30p
Flexibility & Floating Requirement:
This position requires flexibility to float to various locations and departments based on operational needs. Employees in this role will support multiple sites or departments within the organization to ensure high-quality client care and efficient operations.
Floating Responsibilities Include:
- Traveling to different sites or departments as assigned to meet staffing needs.
- Adapting quickly to diverse teams, workflows, and client populations.
- Maintaining consistent communication with site leadership to ensure smooth transitions and practical support across all areas.
This floating requirement is a crucial aspect of the role, providing valuable experience and skill development across the organization.
How Behavioral Health Specialists Empower Recovery:
This role requires a compassionate, adaptable, and proactive professional dedicated to fostering an environment of recovery and support for individuals with eating disorders. The specialist must be prepared to handle diverse settings and client needs, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to ethical principles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to professional boundaries with clients, consistently upholding ethical standards and fostering a safe, respectful environment for all interactions.
- Provide advanced, compassionate, and supportive care to clients, including assisting with daily activities, monitoring mealtimes/snacks, and helping to create a structured and therapeutic environment in alignment with Accanto’s best practices.
- Facilitates therapy groups, including skills groups, self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups, which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement.
- Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks.
- Provides milieu support.
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment.
- Participates in client therapeutic outings.
- May meet with clients to provide support and in-the-moment skills coaching.
- Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, supervision, and/or case consultation meetings and seeks supervision when needed.
- Ability to engage, coach, monitor, and support clients as needed.
- Completes clinical documentation in compliance with The Emily Program and Veritas policies and regulatory standards.
- Maintains at all times the confidentiality of former and current clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Emily Program and Veritas policy. Additionally, maintain confidentiality in any position with access to employee personal information.
- Maintains at all times the confidentiality of proprietary information, which includes but is not limited to, trade secrets, sensitive company information, and generally any company information not made available to the public.
- Complete all mandatory training as required to stay current with the latest practices and regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a mental health-related field.
Professional Qualifications:
- Previous direct mental health experience preferred.
Other Qualifications:
- AAC license is required in Washington State
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
