Dietetic Technician Float

Position Summary:
Works closely with clients, their families, and staff (registered dietitians, therapists, culinary services, and frontline team members). Acts as liaison for the registered dietitian and culinary services to support the execution of registered dietitian prescribed diet orders/meal plans. Utilizes knowledge of nutrition principals to provide basic nutrition education to clients and culinary services. Assists the registered dietitian and basic culinary support as needed.
Schedule:
- Float - Supporting in person On-site program times primarily between 9am-3 pm Monday- Thursday, and Friday 8am-2pm. And supporting Virtual program times 1pm-7pm Monday-Thursday and Friday 8am-2pm.
- 20 hours per week (.5 FTE)
Location:
- On-site required in Spokane: 2020 E 29th Ave #200, Spokane, WA 99203
- Additional Virtual support as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with registered dietitian(s) and culinary services to ensure all diet orders/dietary restrictions/dietary needs prescribed by the registered dietitian are accurately accommodated.
- Provides active meal coaching and support for clients in Therapeutic Supported Meals as assigned.
- Plans, prepares, facilitates assigned nutrition groups and completes documentation of groups provided in the EHR.
- Assists the dietitian in completing a variety of clinical tasks such as daily weight tracking, group preparation, meal plan compliance, and meal planning.
- Supports the culinary team in maintaining the patient pantry with proper labeling of food items with allergy, dietary modification, and proper portioning language (i.e., exchanges, entrée and sides).
- Follows all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
- Always maintains the confidentiality of former and current Emily Program clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Emily Program.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Dietetic Technology or a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science or Nutrition is required (registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is not required).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- One year of clinical or public health experience preferred.
- Previous eating disorder experience is preferred.
Ability to work in the proximity of support animals, or food with potential allergies.
