Position Overview
The Facilities Director leads all facility operations, including budget management, facility planning, and building systems maintenance. This role directs teams responsible for maintaining, renovating, and improving buildings and grounds, while implementing policies and preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The Director ensures regulatory compliance, prioritizes maintenance requests, oversees inspections, and maintains accurate documentation to support performance, accountability, and long-term asset sustainability.
Location:
Remote- Must be US based, and able to work with no restrictions in the US in a remote home office.
The Emily Program operates facilities in WA, MN, OH, NC, and GA
Schedule
- Monday-Friday with Travel to sites as needed 20-40%
Salary Range: $120,000-150,000 commensurate with experience
How Director of Facilities Management & Development Empowers Recovery
You will shape safe, functional, and welcoming environments that directly support our mission and the people we serve. This role leads facility development and operations to ensure our spaces enable high-quality care, efficient operations, and future growth.
Key Responsibilities

Lead facility projects—including renovations, space reconfigurations, and expansions—that support patient care and organizational growth.

Ensure facilities are safe, reliable, and compliant by overseeing maintenance, repairs, and building systems.

Develop and uphold standards for space planning, design, construction, and facility operations.

Adapt spaces and layouts to meet evolving clinical and operational needs.

Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring projects are delivered with quality, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.

Lead and support facility managers and project teams, fostering collaboration and performance.

Partner with senior leadership on long-term facility and strategic planning.

Serve as a key liaison with Property Management and Owner’s Representatives to coordinate site improvements, FF&E, and client lodging needs.
Travel

Travel required approximately 20%–40%, based on project needs and location.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Professional Qualifications:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in Facilities Management, including at least four (4) years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare facilities operations, including strategic planning, budgeting and cost control, and the management of vendor and service provider relationships.
- Proven ability to effectively interact with and influence all levels of the organization, particularly site and executive leadership, with the capability to clearly articulate and align Real Estate and facilities strategies with organizational objectives.
- A strong commitment to professional growth and a demonstrated desire to develop alongside and contribute to the success of the Operations organization.
- Extensive knowledge of facilities management and commercial real estate functions within a corporate environment, including space planning, lease administration, capital project oversight, and operational optimization.
