Family Practice MD - Director of Medical Services

The Director of Medical Services is responsible for providing medical assessment and treatment at Accanto clinical sites at which the physician is assigned. The Director of Medical Services is expected to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, treating patient with eating disorders and related or comorbid conditions. The provider will serve such patients in a gender-inclusive environment and across multiple levels of care, (to include inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization). Further, the provider shall serve as a resource to the medical and behavioral treatment teams around best-practice medical care. The provider will support improved medical care delivery through new practices and processes to enhance overall quality of services and staff efficiency. Will be Attending Physician if required by State Regulation and site need.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including appropriate exam, work-up and the prescription of medications and other interventions as indicated.
- Evaluate, diagnose and treat medical complications of eating disorders, as well as intercurrent conditions, for patients at the different levels of care offered at the facility.
- Supervise all medical treatment by all medical site providers
- Supervise the development of treatment plans for all patients at the facility
- Work with medical providers to develop plans to liaise with community providers and families
- Supervise the overall medical care for all patients within the facility
- Participate in the leadership structure of the facility in conjunction with the Medical Director, Director of Psychiatric Services and Executive Director of the facility
- Work with the Utilization Review team to provide medical information to support the facilitation of peer-to-peer insurance reviews, determination of appropriate levels of care, arbitration of clinical appeals, etc.
- Participate in staff conferences and education, and serve on clinical committees as assigned
- Participate in program development initiatives with the Executive Director, Medical Director, Director of Psychiatric Services and VP of Adult Medicine
Qualifications:
- MD or DO required
- Possession of a current medical license in the state where the physician will practice
- Current unrestricted DEA license
- Current Certifications Required or ability to obtain certifications of:
- Basic Life Saving (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- First Aid (FA)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI Blue Card)
- EHR Computer proficiency required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Workplace Requirements:
- Sitting 70-75% and Standing 25-30%.
- Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to approx. 40 pounds (supplies, etc.)
Compensation: $250,000 - $300,000
