Position Summary: 

The Public Relations Manager plays a critical role in elevating the visibility of the organization, its executive team, franchise and corporate offices, agents, high-profile listings, and new development projects. This role is responsible for executing a wide range of public relations strategies that target the company’s core audiences, including clients, prospective clients, agents, prospective agents, developers, vendors, and the broader community. The Public Relations Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of PR & Communications and greater team to amplify brand positioning, generate media coverage, and differentiate the company within the industry.

Location: Remote position, NY or CA preferred 

The Agency Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Senior Director of PR & Communications and team to support and implement press strategies that enhance the company’s brand reputation, spotlight executives, and promote key business verticals including agents, listings, corporate offices, and development projects.
  • Execute individualized public relations strategies for company executives, agents, listings, franchise offices, and business developments, ensuring consistency with the overarching brand message.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with top-tier national and regional media contacts. Continuously update and manage comprehensive media lists across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Research and identify high-value speaking engagements, panels, and thought leadership opportunities for company executives and agents, increasing their presence at industry-leading events.
  • Stay ahead of media trends by identifying traditional and emerging media platforms, including Podcasts, YouTube channels,  and more, where company stories and thought leadership can be showcased. 
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for inbound media requests. Field, filter, and escalate inquiries as needed to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
  • Craft and edit a variety of PR materials, including media kits, press releases, fact sheets, talking points, and executive bios. Support the in-house copy team on special projects such as blogs, op-eds, and leadership communication.
  • Manage the submission process for key industry awards, helping to raise the company’s profile across multiple industry sectors.
  • Administrative & Organizational Tasks, including:
    • Record media hits and maintain the master media placement document. Regularly update the master public relations initiatives document and media reports.
    • Research and update editorial calendars.
    • Maintain subscriptions to key publications and monitor daily media mentions of agents, listings, and executives.
    • Build and update media lists using platforms such as MuckRack and Cision.
    • Assist in completing research projects and creating media one-sheets and talking points.
    • Prepare PR reports, including media coverage reports, competitive analysis, and PR performance metrics to showcase the impact of PR initiatives.
    • Act as a confident spokesperson and communicator, both in-person and virtually, representing the company in presentations, media interviews, and internal discussions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in English/public relations/communications 
  • This role is ideal for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in real estate, architecture, business or design PR
  • Proven experience in public relations or communications within a fast-paced environment, preferably in real estate, luxury, or lifestyle sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with PR tools and platforms such as Cision, MuckRack, and media monitoring software.
  • Familiarity with emerging media platforms and trends in digital storytelling.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and be a team player
  • Strong customer service and client management experience
  • Exceptional writing, research and organizational skills
  • Able to effectively work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Valid Drivers’ License 
  • Travel as agreed with manager to attend in person meetings, conferences, etc. as required
  • Work remotely, hybrid within office if in NY or LA locations

Compensation: Annual Salary - $70,000-80,000 USD
