Kitchen Aide – Peoria ACES School (Part-Time Position)

Position Summary
The Peoria ACES School is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Kitchen Aide to support daily kitchen operations. This role assists with meal preparation and service for students while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and state regulations. The ideal candidate is a team player who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily kitchen operations, including heating and defrosting food for the student meal program

• Support food preparation in accordance with established menus and portion guidelines

• Help receive and organize food deliveries and supplies

• Assist with basic inventory tracking and reporting, including use of Excel or similar tools

• Check product expiration dates and notify supervisor of items needing use or disposal

• Maintain compliance with Arizona food handler requirements and all applicable health and safety regulations

• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment, and storage spaces

• Support kitchen setup and cleanup before and after meal service

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of food safety standards and willingness to follow Arizona food handler regulations (food handler’s card required)

• Familiarity with basic inventory practices and willingness to learn tracking systems such as Excel

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Positive attitude and willingness to support team needs

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Willing to undergo a background check (IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required)

• Must possess (or be able to obtain) a valid food handler certification in accordance with Arizona requirements
