Position Overview

DCG is seeking a motivated Paid Media Marketing Manager to lead strategy and execution for various federal advertising campaigns. If selected, you will join DCG’s growing paid media practice supporting mission-driven campaigns that educate and inform the American public and serve the common good. Examples include preventing Veteran suicide, human trafficking, and targeted violence; educating Veterans and their families about available care and services; federal employment and military recruitment; and international public diplomacy campaigns that advance U.S. foreign policy interests abroad.

Location

Fully Remote; the selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Make the best-possible use of federal taxpayer dollars and maximize ROI for budgets and campaigns of all sizes and shapes.
  • Coordinate and manage vendors and buying partners including integrated teams of multiple vendors/partners (for larger or more complex campaigns).
  • Manage and optimize ad buys in-platform as required and educate other DCG team members to use platforms and tools dependent on interest, aptitude, and project need.
  • Produce regular performance reporting and generate qualitative insights to inform strategy and optimizations on an ongoing basis.
  • Engage with clients to facilitate buy-in and approval of campaign and content strategies and articulate how performance supports overarching communications objectives.
  • Develop and/or oversee the development of digital dashboards and other performance reporting tools.
  • Proactively identify tactical challenges and recommend and implement solutions, staying abreast of industry changes and best practices and how they can support client campaigns.  
  • Support the growth and development of DCG’s paid media practice including contributing to new business development, team education, and skill set building, and overall marketing of services to federal clients. 
  • Lead, manage, and/or oversee all aspects of federal paid media efforts throughout the campaign lifecycle including:
    • Requirements gathering and identifying measurable, achievable goals/objectives
    • Designing full-funnel campaign strategies, budget allocations, media plans/mix, and measurement approach
    • Partnering with/advising communications and creative teams regarding creative concept development, developing impactful messaging, and producing dynamic asset suites in the required formats and sizes
    • Implementation/execution, performance monitoring , insights and optimizations, and periodic performance analysis and reporting
    • Developing data-driven recommendations for long-term campaign improvement and evolution 

Required Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience 
  • Bonus: Experience with non-commercial/retail campaigns that lack sales conversions; experience supporting Federal campaigns highly desired
  • Strong ability to communicate, both written and verbal, with people at all levels of an organization, including asking questions to inform task scope, priority, etc.
  • Possess high degree of professionalism, both with client and internal team communications and interactions
  • Sound judgement including the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and execute them with the appropriate sense of urgency, ensuring high-quality outcomes regardless of timelines
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and collaborative approach to working with team members, superiors, and clients
  • Extensive experience developing holistic paid media strategies and tactical plans including:
    • Digital and traditional buys (programmatic, direct, broadcast, radio, streaming TV/audio, gaming, experiential, etc.)
    • Leveraging audience insights and consumer data (e.g.. demo/psychographic, media consumption, etc.) to inform plans, strategies, and creative suites
    • Vetting and managing vendors, buyers, and IO-based buys across all paid media types, negotiating added value placements, etc. 
  • Deep knowledge of content and creative requirements across platforms (Google, Microsoft, Meta) and the ability to recommend the best options, formats, and messaging approaches to support client campaign objectives
  • Expertise and experience recommending and implementing ad tracking and attribution strategies and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tableau); building/managing digital dashboards for synthesized/unified reporting; and implementing and managing tracking tags and pixels, UTMs, and other data to evaluate and demonstrate campaign impact and effectiveness
  • Experience or interest in planning and executing campaigns of various sizes, scopes, and purposes including digital and traditional media placements, from small/short-term ad flights to long-term multimillion-dollar campaigns
  • Technical in-platform experience with self-service digital platforms including campaign setup and ad trafficking, strategic audience targeting (native or third party), monitoring, identifying performance insights, and campaign optimization. Note: Not all campaigns require hands-on-keyboard campaign setup and execution. However, the individual in this role will be required to do so for some smaller or short-term campaigns.
  • Strong consulting/client engagement and writing skills including the ability to explain highly technical content and sell proposed approaches to non-technical audiences via in-person or virtual meetings, briefing decks, in-depth plans, media flowcharts, and other mediums
  • A keen eye for detail, particularly regarding producing performance reports, managing financials, developing and/or contributing to project deliverables, and providing project management support for all aspects of development, implementation, and reporting for integrated media campaigns
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and campaigns, client offices, and federal agencies simultaneously, always delivering high-quality support
  • Willingness to share their expertise and insight with colleagues to help build company-wide expertise in paid media
