Position Overview
DCG is seeking an experienced accounting and finance professional to oversee all accounting, compliance, and financial activities across the company. This position will work closely with program managers and senior executives to ensure DCG’s fiscal strength and stability, as well as adherence to government contracting regulations. This individual will leverage experience in full-cycle federal contract accounting environments and a comprehensive understanding of GAAP to execute critical financial operations while enabling long-term planning and reporting. The ideal candidate will blend demonstrated accounting and business analysis skills with excellent attention to detail and a positive, flexible attitude. Currently, this role does not have any direct reports; it requires extensive cross-functional collaboration and hands-on execution across all elements of the finance function.
Location
Fully Remote; the selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Daylight Time business hours.
Responsibilities
- Own the General Ledger, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes in accordance with GAAP and government cost accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and CAS, as well as internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies
- Set up projects and employees in all systems; assign appropriate CLINs/LCATs, hours, and rates to each using cost and pricing data from contracts and detailed price proposals
- Prepare and review indirect rate structures, including provisional billing rates, incurred cost submissions, and any associated rate audits
- Create and submit contract invoices into Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) and all other Government submission platforms, and monitor A/R reports weekly to ensure timely payment
- Validate and enter A/P for contracts, task orders, and general operations of the company
- Coordinate with CFO, auditors, and consultants to support DCAA/DCMA compliance and external financial audits
- Prepare and present financial statements, variance analyses, and key financial metrics to the COO and executive team
- Partner with Contracts, Workforce, Operations, and Portfolio Management teams to provide financial guidance and maintain budgetary discipline
- Support executive leadership in financial planning, scenario modeling, and pricing of government proposals (T&M, FFP, CPFF, etc.)
- Oversee ERP tool (Unanet) maintenance and enhancements to ensure accurate integration with operational data
- Lead twice-monthly payroll process to include employee reimbursements, compensation and benefits changes, bonus payments, and tracking and updating PTO balances
- Lead month-end close to include reconciliation of all accounts (bank, payroll, credit cards, etc.), amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, and other related duties as directed
- Assist with tax documentation to include issuance of 1099 and W-2 reports and any other relevant information as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (Master’s and/or CPA preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting with at least 5 years in federal government contract accounting processes
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA requirements
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (Unanet experience strongly desired)
- Experience with Government invoicing and payment systems (IPP, WAWF, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively in a fast-paced environment without direct reports
- Ability to identify, communicate, mitigate, and manage risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
- US Citizenship may be required due to government contract specifications
