Position Overview
DCG is seeking a skilled Quantitative Research to support a dynamic team responsible for international survey research encompassing 20+ projects. Reporting to the Senior Research Manager, the Researcher will leverage experience in international research and data analysis to build, execute, and report on findings across the portfolio.
As part of the interview process for this role, selected candidates will receive a timed assessment to gauge technical and problem-solving skills.
Location
Although this role is remote, candidates located within the National Capital Region will be given preference. Regardless, the selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Time business hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous checks of survey instruments before beginning fieldwork, including checking scripts on different technological platforms, often in unfamiliar languages
- With training and support, provide standard guidance and support to international fieldwork partners on interviewer training and any concerns that arise
- Monitor data collection during and after fieldwork to ensure high-quality data
- Upon receipt of post-fieldwork datasets, conduct an initial review and quality control of the data based on the standards set by the team, cleaning data to ensure consistency, data quality, and adherence to the sampling and fieldwork plan
- Where needed and when interest is expressed, assist the team in data analysis, reporting, and client communication
- Manage vendor communications and provide oversight of certain work products
- Review and provide feedback for questionnaire scripts and codebooks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a social science, statistics, or related field
- 1-3 years of professional experience involving survey research and quantitative analysis, ideally with government programs involving polling and evaluation components
- Comfort with data and processes for data cleaning and analysis using SPSS, STATA, and/or R, with a high level of competency in Excel to support secondary tasks
- Demonstrated experience with survey research processes and, ideally, fieldwork logistics like training and oversight
- Experience with international research is strongly desired
- Interest in research methodology and learning new applied research skills
- Interest in international and security issues
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust Clearance
