The Florida Panthers enter the 2025-26 season as the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions, having gone to the Stanley Cup Final in each of the past three seasons. The National Hockey League’s southernmost team, the Panthers have reached the postseason in a club-record six consecutive campaigns. The Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County, Florida: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, the new state-of-the-art practice facility Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale, as well as the renovated War Memorial Auditorium, which hosts concerts and events for the South Florida faithful.

 An organization with deep roots in the community, the Panthers are owned by Vincent J. Viola, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Emphasizing a culture of selfless service both on and off the ice, the Panthers pillar program ‘Heroes Among Us’ honors a United States military veteran at every game and the Florida Panthers Foundation has four main focuses including veterans affairs, children's health and education, raising awareness for the endangered Florida panther and growing youth hockey.

Job Summary:

The Concessions Manager works closely with the Asst Director and VP of Hospitality to ensure the effective management and running of venue concession and warehouse operations including event planning support, scheduling, food preparation and production, inventory, compliance with alcohol service policies, cleaning, safety, guest service, employee/volunteer training and supervision, troubleshooting, closing duties, and any other tasks assigned


Job Functions:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure proper set-up of all concession locations before Set-up duties may include (but are not limited to): verifying initial inventory, assigning duties to concession workers (employee/volunteer), ensuring sanitation standards are met, confirming that each location is fully operational, ascertaining levels of food production based upon projected guest attendance.
  • Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth, efficient and profitable execution of events.
  • Manage and run all venue concessions operations before, during and after the event. Duties include staff scheduling, payroll, employee check-in, equipment inspection, POS monitoring and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, clean-up, post-event reconciliation and reporting, and any other tasks as assigned.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisors to maintain the efficient operation of the Commissary Warehouse, ensuring all locations are cleaned and properly stocked prior to and during all events.
  • Work closely with Concessions Sous Chef to make sure all recipes, cost of goods, and food quality, are what they are supposed to be.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational, submitting and following up on repair work orders.
  • Willing to cover any open position to assure location is fully operational, and company standards

regarding the speed of service and guest satisfaction are met; assist with Premium Services operations and event needs, as directed.

  • Ensure that all venue policies, procedures, and practices are adhered to including compliance with alcohol service and food handling/sanitation guidelines, general safety policies and procedures. Report any alcohol service or other compliance issues to the Manager immediately.
  • Complete post-event evaluations, data compilation, tracking of product shortages, generating reports; serves as a resource for POS applications, training, and hardware problems.
  • Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to management immediately.
  • Responsible for communicating performance concerns according to company policy
  • Ensure the continued success of the Non-profit fundraising program by reaching out to local non-profit organizations, providing information regarding the program and provide assistance in completing the necessary paperwork.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (e., regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, POS systems, timekeeping system.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions locations: geographical location, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access.
  • Possess a valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a non-exempt position. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
