Project Manager
Organization Overview:
The Florida Panthers enter their 33rd season in 2026-27 as one of the National Hockey League’s premier franchises. As back-to-back Stanley Cup champions in 2024 and 2025, the Cats have emerged victorious in 11 of their past 12 postseason series and have captured four Eastern Conference championships. The Panthers are led by President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Bill Zito entering his seventh season, and President of Business Operations Michael White who begins his first full season.
As the NHL’s southernmost team, the Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County, Florida: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise; the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs; the state-of-the-art Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale; and the renovated War Memorial Auditorium, which hosts concerts and events for the South Florida faithful year-round.
An organization with deep roots in the community, the Panthers are owned by Vincent J. Viola, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Emphasizing a culture of selfless service both on and off the ice, the Panthers pillar program, “Heroes Among Us,” honors a United States military veteran at every game. The Florida Panthers Foundation focuses on four core pillars: veterans’ affairs; children’s health and education; raising awareness for the endangered Florida Panther; and growing youth hockey throughout the region. The Panthers remain committed to empowering our fans to live sustainably and to strengthen the resiliency of our diverse communities throughout Florida and the tri-county area.
PROJECT MANAGER
Project Management Office | Reports to Chief Operating Officer
Full-Time | Senior Individual Contributor
About the Role
The Florida Panthers are two-time Stanley Cup Champions — and we’re just getting started. Fueled by two championships and a fanbase that is growing faster than nearly any franchise in professional hockey, the Panthers are entering a new chapter defined by ambition, innovation, and a deliberate commitment to doing things differently. We are not content to be a great hockey team. We are building a world-class sports and entertainment enterprise — one that sets the standard for how professional sports franchises operate, grow, and connect with their communities. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing Project Management Office at the center of that transformation — directly supporting the COO and driving enterprise-wide initiatives across revenue, operations, capital investment, strategy, and fan growth.
This role is not for the faint of heart. You will manage complexity across multiple simultaneous workstreams, work with senior leaders who expect sharp thinking and clear communication, and be accountable for keeping mission-critical projects moving — on time, on budget, and with every stakeholder informed. In return, you'll have visibility, autonomy, and the chance to leave a real mark.
What You’ll Own
Enterprise Program Management
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of high-priority, cross-functional programs — from charter and scope definition through execution, closeout, and post-mortem. You will hold teams accountable to timelines and deliverables without the luxury of direct authority.
Executive Communication
- Synthesize complex, multi-threaded project information into crisp, structured briefings for C-suite and senior leaders. Translate ambiguity into clarity — in written updates, executive decks, and live presentations.
Stakeholder Orchestration
- Build trusted relationships across the organization. Identify misalignment early, facilitate hard conversations, and ensure every function with a stake in a project stays informed, engaged, and unblocked.
Risk and Issue Management
- Proactively surface risks before they become problems. Develop contingency plans. Escalate with the right context and the right recommendation — not just the problem.
Process and Rigor
- Bring structure to ambiguous situations. Develop and maintain project management frameworks, reporting cadences, and governance processes that scale with the organization.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Strategy, Marketing, Technology, and other functions to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and drive decisions in environments where authority is earned, not given.
AI-Enabled & Agentic Workflows
- Architect and operationalize AI-enabled, agent-driven project workflows to automate reporting, forecast risks, and accelerate decision cycles — transforming traditional PMO functions into a real-time, data-driven execution engine.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Credentials
- 5–10 years of Program or Project Management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering enterprise-scale, cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrated experience managing projects across diverse domains — revenue programs, operational transformation, capital expenditure (CAPEX), strategic initiatives, or audience/fan development
- Experience working in or alongside highly rigorous industries such as aerospace & defense, big tech, management consulting, financial services, or similarly demanding environments
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred but not required — we care more about your actual capabilities than credentials
Core Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — you write with precision, speak with confidence, and tailor your message to your audience without losing substance
- Structured thinking — you instinctively organize information into frameworks, identify what’s signal versus noise, and present complexity in ways people can act on
- High EQ and no ego — you listen as well as you lead, build trust quickly, and operate with the humility to know that great outcomes require great relationships
- Bias for action — you don’t wait for perfect information; you move with urgency, make smart decisions under ambiguity, and know when to push and when to pause
- Relentless follow-through — things don’t fall through the cracks on your watch; you are the person the organization relies on to keep the trains running
- Comfortable operating in white space — you thrive when the path is unclear and see ambiguity as an opportunity, not a threat
Who You Are
You are someone who takes pride in the craft of program management. Not because of the title or the authority, but because you understand the leverage it creates. You make the people around you sharper. You make organizations move faster. You are a culture-carrier who earns trust by being reliably excellent — prepared, calm under pressure, transparent when things go sideways, and relentlessly focused on outcomes over optics.
You come from an environment that demanded precision and accountability, and you’re ready to bring that rigor to a mission that feels personal. You want to build — not just maintain.
Representative Areas of Work
Depending on organizational priorities, you can expect to manage initiatives in areas including:
|
Revenue Growth |

Fan & Audience Growth |
|
• Commercial partnerships • Sponsorship activation • Revenue operations programs |
• CAPEX planning and execution • Org design and change management • Systems and process transformation |

External Partnerships |
|
• Annual strategy development • KPI development and implementation • Long-range planning programs |
• Data infrastructure projects • Platform and tools rollouts • Analytics and reporting initiatives |

Why This Role
- Direct line to the COO — you will have genuine visibility into the organization’s most important priorities
- Enterprise scope — you won’t be managing a single function; you’ll be operating at the intersection of the entire business
- Meritocratic culture — we evaluate people on outcomes and character, not pedigree or politics
- Meaningful work — we are building something people care deeply about, and so will you
- Talented, driven colleagues — we hire people who make everyone around them better
