What you will do:
We are on a journey to revolutionize our data capabilities through the modernization of our Data Platform, unlocking insights and innovations that will power the company’s future.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager who can lead and inspire teams to drive the future of data in our company. If you’re passionate about leading from the front and pushing boundaries, join us on this journey.
You will lead 2 teams composed of Data Engineers and Data Ops to implement and maintain best practices in data processing, according to the Data Lakehouse approach.
You will work closely with Data Governance, Product Management and Architects to drive platform improvements and support the ever evolving needs of data and engineering teams.
You will:
- Own the data platform roadmaps
- Enhance and maintain robust batch ingestion and validation pipelines.
- Participate in our data transformation program taking direct ownership of the creation of a self-service data platform and contributing to the implementation of data governance principles.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement engineering best practices within the data ecosystem.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the data engineering team, ensuring collaboration and alignment with broader business and product objectives
- Mentor and upskill team members
- Contribute to system architecture designs with Architects.
- Coordinate and run Proofs of Concept (POCs).
You will directly report to the Head of the tribe.
You Must Meet These Critical Qualifications
- Proven leadership and mentorship experience guiding data engineering teams.
- Extensive experience with Data Lakehouse architectures and implementation.
- Solid understanding of Data Mesh, including domain ownership, federated governance, and data product design.
- Solid understanding of Data Governance and Quality, covering metadata management, data lineage, and data observability in general.
- Proven experience using AWS services and familiar with infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Snowflake and Airflow.
- Experience with data modeling and knowledge of medallion architecture.
