We are seeking an enthusiastic Physician Assistant to join our friendly, dynamic team in a busy Gastroenterology practice in the DFW suburb of Southlake, TX. Our clinic has been serving the community over 20 years and is also a partner of the fast-growing GI Alliance organization. Our practice fosters a team approach that will enable the PA to expand their skillset and knowledge. We are dedicated to providing training and guidance to allow the PA to excel with a sense of proficiency and accomplishment. The PA in this position will have a meaningful impact in the practice.
Job Description:
- Practice address: 505 S. Nolen Drive, Southlake, TX 76092
- Busy Gastroenterology clinic, working both independently and in conjunction with the physicians
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm
- No call responsibilities
- No inpatient responsibilities
- Seeing both new and follow-up patients
- Approximately 14 patients per day
- Elicit detailed patient histories, conduct physical examinations and document findings
- Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatments
- Support, educate, guide office clinical staff (Nurses, MAs) and office staff (schedulers) in regard to patient care
- Determine tentative diagnoses and order appropriate diagnostic tests, interpret pathology findings, imaging, laboratory and other results
- Counsel patient and family on endoscopic indications, findings, potential complications and expected outcomes
- Achieve proficiency in the practice and EMR
- Collaborate with referring physicians and offices, hospitalists, surgical partners and other specialties for optimal patient care
- Maintain in good standing licensure with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners
- Participate in all continuing education, training, and other requirements to remain in good standing for credentialing purposes at assigned medical facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- State Licensed Physician Assistant - Required

- Ability to communicate and work collegially with a wide variety of team members - Required
- Gastrointestinal experience - Preferred
- New Physician Assistant graduates will be considered
