THE ROLE.

As a Product Developer (Menswear), you are responsible for managing the execution of styles from concept to launch, bringing to market world-class, fit-for-purpose product built and engineered to Gymshark standards.

You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, technically robust product, using your expertise to support the creation of innovative and performance-driven menswear collections.

Partnering closely with Design, Materials, Sourcing, and Technical teams, you will ensure products are developed in line with seasonal strategies, commercial targets, and brand expectations. You will operate with a high level of ownership across your categories, ensuring consistency in fit, construction, and quality while contributing to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING.

  • Managing the development of menswear styles from concept through to launch, in line with the Product Creation Calendar and Critical Path timelines.
  • Leading fit sessions and proto reviews, ensuring clear and concise communication of fit and construction amendments to cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Owning garment execution, ensuring compliance with measurements, quality, construction, fit, and consistency in line with Gymshark standards, manuals, and minimum make guidelines.
  • Developing and finalising Tech Packs, including signing off Bills of Materials (BOM), ensuring all technical documentation (testing, safety, legal) is completed and accurately maintained within PLM systems.
  • Collaborating closely with Design to ensure products align with creative vision while delivering commercially viable and technically sound solutions.
  • Providing input into construction methods and recommending improvements to enhance product performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Partnering with Materials teams to support fabric, trim, and logo development, contributing technical expertise to ensure products are fit for purpose.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams (Design, Materials, Sourcing, Quality, Colour) to ensure aligned and efficient product development.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for technical topics across your product areas, ensuring smooth communication internally and externally.
  • Building effective relationships with vendors and suppliers, supporting the delivery of development timelines, quality standards, and technical specifications (including independent travel where required).
  • Identifying and managing wear testing requirements, analysing results, and feeding back actionable improvements.
  • Ensuring all products meet required safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards, including performance and product claims.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation across all stages of development, including samples, specifications, and communications.
  • Tracking development progress, proactively identifying risks, and implementing solutions to minimise delays.
  • Supporting development workshops, pre-costing activities, and design handovers to ensure efficient product creation.
  • Analysing data (e.g., returns, wear testing, performance feedback) to identify trends and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of product standards, processes, and best practices across Menswear.
  • Supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives aligned with business growth and product innovation.
  • Acting as a positive role model within the team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance environment.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED.

Essential Skills:

  • Appropriate qualification within an apparel, product development, or technical discipline.
  • Strong experience within a Product Development role, ideally focused on menswear, sportswear, or activewear.
  • Proven expertise in garment construction, fit, and technical product development.
  • Strong understanding of performance fabrics and their application within menswear.
  • Experience managing product development timelines and critical paths within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical information.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify risk and propose viable solutions.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Experience working with PLM systems and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Illustrator.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with global sportswear or activewear brands.
  • Knowledge of pattern cutting or garment engineering.
  • Experience working with international suppliers and multi-region development.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices, product compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience supporting junior team members or contributing to team development.
