Position Overview

The Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) – Float plays a critical role in supporting clinical operations across multiple locations; ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care and efficient clinic flow.

This position requires flexibility and adaptability, serving as a key member of the care team by providing clinical support, assisting providers, and maintaining continuity of care wherever support is needed.

What You’ll Do

Clinical Support & Patient Care

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and assess needs to support provider decision-making
  • Assist providers with procedures and direct patient care
  • Perform EKGs, administer injections, and support minor procedures
  • Perform CLIA-waived testing and prepare specimens in compliance with clinical standards
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms to ensure readiness for patient care

Care Coordination & Patient Communication

  • Coordinate referrals and support continuity of care across locations
  • Triage patient communications and respond to clinical inquiries
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams to support outcomes

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards including OSHA, CLIA, ADA, and VFC requirements
  • Support proper tracking and documentation within systems such as CHIRP and VOMS

What You Bring

Required

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • Graduate of an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between clinic locations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient care setting
  • Familiarity with CHIRP, VFC, and VOMS systems
  • Experience working in fast-paced, team-based healthcare environments
