ABOUT THE FREEDOM TOGETHER FOUNDATION

The Freedom Together Foundation’s mission is to support people who have been denied power to build it, so they can change unjust systems and create a more democratic, inclusive, and sustainable society. We are committed to advancing deep, systemic change by supporting movements, leaders, and organizations working for justice across the country.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a versatile, adaptable, and highly organized Executive Coordinator to join our People & Culture team. This is a unique position designed for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and brings a spirit of curiosity and service to their work. The EC will primarily provide seamless, high-quality administrative and operational support to the VP of People & Culture. Up to 50% of time will be dedicated to supporting the other Freedom Together Executive Coordinators, stepping in where help is most needed.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on new adventures, learns quickly, and excels at bringing structure to dynamic situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

People & Culture Team Support

Primarily staffing the VP of People & Culture, the Executive Coordinator will manage administrative duties such as scheduling, updating project trackers, notetaking, and tracking follow-up commitments. The EC will also support the coordination of logistics for special initiatives and events that strengthen a values-based team culture across the organization. As a member of the P&C Team, this position will assist other team members as needed.

Executive Support (Rotating Assignments)

No more than 50% of their time, the Executive Coordinator will provide assistance as needed to other Executive Coordinators during times of heightened workloads or special initiatives (e.g. event support). At times, they will also step in during staff leaves to ensure continuity for executive-level administrative support (e.g. calendar management, travel logistics).

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of experience providing administrative support, ideally to senior executives in non-profit mission-driven environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • A "no task too small" mindset, with humility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Helpful and willing to pitch in as needs arise.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and pivot gracefully between different teams or projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and comfort with digital tools (e.g. Canva, Visio).
  • High level of emotional intelligence, discretion, sound judgment, and low ego.
  • A curious, proactive learner who brings positivity and resilience to changing circumstances.
  • A strong alignment with the foundation’s mission and values.
  • Enthusiasm to build a culture that is rooted in shared values, supports staff to bring their best selves to the work, and enables the foundation to achieve its highest aspirations.

SALARY & BENEFITS

This is a full-time, non-exempt position and the annualized salary is $117,000. Freedom Together offers an extensive and generous benefits package including health insurance (with 100% of the premiums paid for employees, spouses, domestic partners, and qualified family members), paid time off (including last week of the year), 401(k) retirement plan with 12% employer contribution, and access to an inclusive family building reimbursement plan.
