ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

As a member of our digital editorial team for bodas.com.mx, the Associate Editor plays a crucial role in the editorial process, ensuring the creation and refinement of high-quality content in secondary markets. This position demands a combination of editorial expertise, organizational proficiency, and an understanding of the audience. 

Associate Editor creates and adapts content that resonates with the target audience, considering cultural, demographic, and market-specific trends and ensuring alignment with brand goals. Provides preliminary research and outlines for articles. This role focuses on writing and producing SEO-driven articles, identifying wedding and lifestyle trends, and updating existing content to improve performance. 

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented editor who is comfortable writing and producing content that will perform across several marketing channels. Familiarity with editorial processes, digital publishing platforms, and managing editorial calendars is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write and produce original, SEO-driven articles that align with brand goals. Their responsibilities include editing and refining content, developing new editorial initiatives, and/or expanding existing content strategies within a specific channel.
  • Identify wedding and lifestyle trends and pitch relevant ideas.
  • Audit existing content to identify opportunities to update and further optimize articles.
  • Analyze content performance. 
  • Conduct keyword research to track performance and enhance search visibility.
  • Ensure content aligns with editorial guidelines, brand voice, and digital publishing best practices.
  • Work with other colleagues, teams and departments to create strategic content opportunities.
  • Conduct photo research.
  • Stay current on weddings, lifestyle and media industries.
  • Participates in regular editorial meetings to provide input and assist with planning, ensuring that projects move forward smoothly and in coordination with larger goals.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. Previous experience working for an online magazine = huge plus. 
  • Exceptional writing skills. 1-2 years of professional experience writing for an online brand or digital publication. 
  • You will sign the articles with your name so we need you to fall in love with the brand and be able to represent the brand and its values
  • Experience working in a team, as well as experience collaborating cross-functionally with other teams on projects and initiatives 
  • An extreme attention to detail 
  • Strong commitment to hitting deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
  • An understanding of SEO best practices and keyword targeting. Experience writing search-optimized copy is necessary.
  • Experience working within a CMS (text/content management tools)
  • A good eye for design, style and trends.
  • Medium-high level of English and public speaking skills.
  • Any combination of education and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including but not exclusive to a degree in journalism, communications or marketing at an accredited institution or comparable practical experience.
  • You live in Barcelona or nearby.

WORK MODEL:

This role is Together@TKWW-eligible and based near one of our office hubs. Starting September 15, 2025, you’ll be expected to work in the office two days a week as part of our hybrid work model.
