About the Role and Our Team:
The Knot Worldwide is hiring a Lead Data Analyst to drive analytics capabilities across our core Consumer Marketing teams. This is a senior individual contributor role within the Data Science & Analytics organization who will operate with a high degree of autonomy to define metrics, build scalable reporting, and lead analytical investigations that drive clarity, alignment, and impact across Marketing and other key business teams.
In this role, you’ll be the primary analytics partner Marketing for a suite of consumer-focused brands—responsible for ensuring decision-makers have trusted data, clear KPIs, and actionable insights. You’ll work closely with data engineers, other analysts, data scientists, and marketing leaders to transform complex performance trends into clear narratives that guide strategy.
Responsibilities
Metrics Definition & Governance
- Develop, document, and maintain clear, consistent metric definitions within a centralized semantic layer (i.e. Cube).
- Partner with business and data stakeholders to align on KPI logic and ensure consistent usage across reports and dashboards.
- Contribute to processes that ensure metrics are version-controlled, certified, and discoverable.
Reporting & Dashboarding
- Build and maintain high-quality dashboards and reports that support business teams, executives, and operational workflows.
- Ensure reporting outputs reflect the most current and accurate data definitions.
- Support rollout of modern BI tools and adoption of the semantic layer.
Business Performance Investigation
- Lead deep-dive analyses into performance trends, identifying root causes and key opportunities.
- Serve as the go-to resource for urgent, high-priority business questions that require data-backed answers.
- Deliver recommendations and findings in concise, executive-friendly formats.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key analytics partner to teams across Marketing, Product, Finance, and Revenue.
- Translate business questions into structured analyses, and help teams interpret results with appropriate context and caveats.
- Contribute to shared metrics and reporting resources that promote transparency and alignment across teams.
Operational Analytics Excellence
- Help establish and champion best practices for metric design, dashboard development, and data quality validation.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to ensure analytics models and data pipelines meet stakeholder needs.
- Stay up to date with changes in source systems and contribute to QA/testing efforts to ensure data accuracy.
Successful candidates have:
- 6–8 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related data role.
- Marketing domain expertise — deep familiarity with concepts such as channel performance analysis, funnel metrics, media attribution, lifecycle marketing, and campaign measurement.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Preset/Superset, Metabase, Tableau).
- Experience with metrics layer tools (e.g., dbt metrics, LookML, Cube) in a governed reporting environment.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills.
- Ability to operate with minimal direction while managing multiple priorities.
Strong track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
