Senior Social Strategist

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Planning Director, Social/Group Planning Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the social authority on your brands, ensuring best in class standards are met.
  • Be a vocal advocate of visibility, telling compelling, audience-informed stories.
  • Possess deep tactical knowledge of social media platforms & their native features and content, using this to shift the caliber of the creative work.
  • Have a sharp strategic understanding of the roles of organic, paid social and influencers in building brands and driving business results.
  • Monitor and interpret cultural and social trends relevant to client business and elevate them to creatives & Social Media Manager(s) to concept against.
  • Lead development of social media POVs, social media playbooks, and trends reports while orchestrating cross-discipline input (creative, comms, data, etc).
  • Be able to construct multiple always-on and campaign level briefs simultaneously for various clients.
  • Serve as the day-to-day client consultant on social media strategy (organic & paid), lead client meetings and manage client
  • Shepherd creative teams, social media managers, and analysts to ensure campaign goals and benchmarks are met in all pieces of content.
  • Work with analysts to set social frameworks and measurement plans, developing strategic narratives for performance reports that make our impact undeniable.
  • Contribute to new business pitches and business development.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with strategic platform partners (TikTok, Meta, Snap, Threads, etc.).
  • Author case studies and awards submissions for seasonal shows.

Knowledge, Skill, Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience developing social strategies within advertising, marketing, entertainment, public relations/communications, or content fields.
  • Deep fascination with internet culture aka chronically online.
  • Significant experience in conceiving, delivering, and executing social media content for leading brands with undeniable impact.
  • Proficiency in designing social playbooks and onboarding clients.
  • Excellent & engaging writing skills especially in crafting strategic narratives.
  • Ability to work independently, shaping and delivering on your own projects and tracking/proving their success.
  • An engaging communicator, collaborator and negotiator — we work with a representative group of people (race, ethnicity, nationality, etc.) and we value those who are excited at the chance to communicate cross-culturally and across departments.

Bonus:

  • Considerable experience using research tools like TalkWalker, Helixa, Mintel, Forrester, Vivvex, etc.
  • Experience with social publishing platforms (Sprinklr, Hootsuite or similar platforms).
  • Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
