Associate Client Executive

About the Job 

This role closely collaborates with senior team members to help oversee client experience while gaining experience in the Client Executive role. This role is designed to support the development and execution of clients' benefit plan strategies, while also building experience in crafting retention strategies for existing clients and devising acquisition strategies for new clients in partnership with Consultants and the broader team. 

 

Essential Functions 

Client Engagement and Implementation 

  • Assist in preparing and presenting at finalist and prospect meetings to secure new business. 
  • Participate in implementation meetings to onboard new clients and communicate sold decisions to the MJ team. 
  • Support and eventually lead local and travel-required Open Enrollment (OE) meetings to ensure clients understand and can navigate their benefits. 

Client and Vendor Relations 

  • Assist in preparing and leading client strategy and checkpoint meetings, ensuring strategic alignment and client engagement. 
  • Participate in client committee meetings, strategy sessions, and regular client and carrier/vendor calls to maintain continuous communication and support. 

Strategic Client Management 

  • Assist with managing the overall client experience, handling escalated claims, and providing strategic recommendations. 
  • Support the coordination of internal value propositions and maintain effective communication with clients and the internal team. 

Compliance and Documentation 

  • Inform the compliance team of client changes and ensure necessary reviews are performed. 
  • Assist with the final reviews of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), decision summary forms, and Benefit Guides to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. 

Marketing and Financial Analysis 

  • Participate in pre-marketing meetings, handle reprices and assist in managing complex medical marketing processes. 
  • Support the creation and update of cost summaries and fully insured exhibits for various benefits. 
  • Assist in negotiations for renewals and new policies across dental, disability, life, medical stop-loss, TPA admin fees, and vision. 
  • Provide forecasts to help clients make informed decisions.  

Communication and Coordination 

  • Manage the Open Enrollment communication process between clients and the internal team. 
  • Notify carriers of terminations, obtain necessary communication content, and ensure effective updates. 
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in OneNote/Client folders and carrier correspondence folders. 

Wellness and Analytics 

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of wellness strategies, including project management task requests from the Population Health and Analytics teams. 
  • Provide ad hoc analyses and benchmarking to offer clients relevant insights and data-driven recommendations. 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Communication, Risk Management, or a related business discipline (preferred) 
  • Life & Health License (required upon hire) 

 

Knowledge & Experience 

  • Preferred minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience with client-facing customer service and/or marketing with an in-depth knowledge of the insurance brokerage business; preferably with self-funded benefit plans, medical stop loss and ancillary coverages 
  • Demonstrated skills: project management, prioritization, problem-solving, sense of urgency, detail-oriented, excellent organizational and time management, follow through and ability to work independently 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional presentation skills 

 

Technical Functions 

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) 
  • Familiar with the use of an Agency Management System and Document Management System (BenefitPoint experience a plus) 
  • Strong project management background internal team leadership skills
