Our ability to deliver actionable and useful insights for the organization requires that we understand the business, that we are interested in learning about our customers, and stay curious enough to uncover the stories buried in the data. We’re looking for someone with a proven ability to craft concise, actionable analyses and reports that tell a story about a business area, marketing campaign, or customer segment.

 

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively: Business intelligence Fools are like internal consultants. We help teams across the company do their jobs better by identifying opportunities and informing data driven decisions. Our analyses are only useful if we collaborate with teams and leaders and communicate the results clearly. While consulting background/experience is not a formal requirement, we expect a consultative mindset and approach to working with stakeholders.

 

Overall Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of collaborative data analytics experience delivering insights directly to key stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable in reporting and data visualization tools like Tableau, Thoughtspot or Power BI
  • Intermediate to advanced technical data skills including:
    • Programming experience with python
    • SQL
    • Statistical testing and experiment design  
    • Supervised machine learning methods and approaches; ML project deployment
    • Familiarity with common data science libraries (ex: scikit-learn, pandas, numpy)
  • Subscription marketing or retention marketing analytics experience extremely desirable (A/B testing, email marketing)
  • Google Analytics experience is a plus
  • Solid math chops is a plus



Detailed Responsibilities:

  1. Business Intelligence:
    • Collaborate and consult with business teams to understand their business strategy, economics, goals, and translate them into data initiatives
    • Provide data-informed recommendations with a quantifiable value, to improve product features, engagement and member experience 
    • Monitor key metrics and performance indicators and develop strategies to create meaningful impacts in business performance
  2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze large datasets (hundreds of thousands to millions of records) to derive meaningful insights
    • Perform exploratory data analysis to discover new insights and inform strategic initiatives
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide data insights to stakeholders
    • Communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner
  3. Advanced Analytics and Data Science:
    • Utilize advanced analytics techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
    • Apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems
    • Build predictive models to forecast business outcomes, facilitate segmentation/targeting tactics, and support business owner decision-making
    • Collaborate with data engineering and tech colleagues to automate and operationalize models

Detailed Qualification Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business or a related field preferred. Additional data-related training or degrees are a plus.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science. Specific experience using data to inform business decisions that have a measurable impact on business growth.
  • Business Acumen: Experience influencing data-informed product development decisions, improving customer engagement, driving growth in retention-related metrics
  • Technical Skills/Experience:
    • Data Storytelling to delivery clear, actionable insights
    • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
    • Advanced programming language skills, preferably python
    • Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Thoughtspot, PowerBI or similar 
    • Statistical experiment design and testing including inferential statistics 
    • Supervised machine learning methods and approaches, including linear algebra
    • ML project deployment and lifecycle management (Databricks experience strongly preferred)
    • Cloud Platform, preferably AWS (Amazon Web Services)
    • Causal modeling experience a plus
    • NLP techniques/experience a plus
    • Continuous learner keeping up with the latest technical trends in data science

Annual Pay Range

$100,000 - $120,000 USD
