What does this team do?

Our wealth management business – Motley Fool Wealth Management (“MFWM”) – is a fee-only investment management firm headquartered in greater Washington, D.C. MFWM serves high net worth individuals nationwide through a team of financial advisors and our in-house portfolio management team. We manage $2.2 billion under management and serve over 3,000 clients.

What would you do in this role?

We are looking for a Wealth Management Marketing Manager who has marketing experience in the RIA or broker-dealer industry and is interested in being part of a small, dynamic team pursuing aggressive growth goals. This Fool will sit on the greater Money Management Marketing team and will be dedicated to our wealth management business, working in close partnership with our team of wealth advisors, portfolio managers, and client experience specialists.

In this role, you are responsible for managing the lead conversion channels - focused on the email channel and website primarily – that convert our database of highly qualified leads into strong prospects for our wealth advisors. You are responsible for nurturing the lead relationship, generating introductory appointments for our wealth advisors, and providing marketing materials that assist in closing the deals coming out of the appointments.

You are responsible for organic social media as well as the strategy, implementation, and productivity of the email channel to include the email marketing calendar, management of new messaging and acquisition campaigns, A/B test plans, workflow and sequence management, webinars/free reports/quick guides and marketing materials that aid the wealth advisors in the conversion efforts throughout the sales process. Your goal is to convert our leads into high quality appointments that go on to become closed deals, working hand in hand with the wealth advisor team for feedback and input on the topics, strategies, and vehicles that assist their efforts successfully.

As part of a small but mighty Marketing team, you will work in partnership with fellow Marketing Managers dedicated to the other business lines in the firm to coordinate projects and priorities of the Creative and Editorial teams. You will report to the CMO.

But what will you really do?

  • Managing the marketing efforts to convert the lead database and website traffic into high quality appointments for the wealth advisor team and provide marketing materials and support to the wealth advisors throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate on the prospect journey and lead experience, building, testing, and optimizing the marketing funnel.
  • Create a comprehensive annual marketing plan focused on the key growth drivers of the business.
  • Responsible for creating marketing emails (both manual and automated workflows), managing templates, loading content, conducting QC, managing lists and segmentation, and managing record-keeping and approval process.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team’s fellow Marketing Managers, Designers, Copywriters, and Managing Editor to identify points of synergy across the various marketing efforts and to coordinate the work plan across a shared team.
  • Collaborate with the wealth advisors and client experience team to understand their needs for marketing materials and sales collateral.
  • Create campaigns, offers, and calls to action that are compelling to the retail investor and our target market.
  • Own the website marketing strategy to optimize the calls to action across our target audiences. Proficient in Google Analytics and an understanding of data visualization software (Tableau is a plus!).
  • Own our presence across our Fool Wealth social media pages, in concert with the marketing and editorial plans. Responsible for creating, posting, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain a "test and learn" approach - continuously analyzing campaign performance data, sharing meaningful sales and marketing insights, and incorporating findings into future campaign iterations.
  • Track, analyze and provide ongoing reporting on campaign efforts, KPIs, and progress towards growth goals.
  • Responsible for all legal, compliance and records-retention processes.

What do you need to apply?

  • 3-5 years marketing experience in the wealth management industry, ideally for a RIA or broker-dealer.
  • Experience with marketing management and email automation systems (Hubspot experience moves you to the front of the line!)
  • Proven track record of successful online marketing campaigns and organic social media – owning campaign performance and adjusting tactics to meet objectives and budgets.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, a passion for metrics and quantitative analysis, ability to turn analysis into actionable programs, and ability to use data to optimize day-to-day performance.
  • Outstanding project management and prioritization skills.
  • Builds positive relationships and collaborates across internal and external partners and teams.
  • Must be a strong communicator able to effectively communicate results, test ideas, and ROI to all stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter who is highly innovative and comfortable driving campaigns from conception through execution. You need to be highly organized to keep track of all the various partner materials and how they can be leveraged across your target audiences. You will need experience working inside of a highly regulated industry, comfortable with the marketing rules and review process.
