Why We Need You
The Public Science Common at the Museum of Science is a groundbreaking space designed to spark curiosity, foster collaboration, and connect communities through science. To bring this vision to life, we need a Director of Sales who can drive engagement, build strategic partnerships, and maximize revenue opportunities to ensure the success and sustainability of this dynamic new initiative.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to attract corporate clients, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and other partners who share our passion for science and innovation. Your expertise in business development, relationship management, and event sales will be instrumental in positioning the Public Science Common as a premier destination for sponsored events, conferences, and unique experiences that inspire and educate.

What You’ll Accomplish
- Revenue Growth and Business Expansion by demonstrating a strategic approach to driving significant revenue growth and business expansion by identifying new market opportunities, optimizing sales processes, and cultivating high-value client relationships. Develops and executes comprehensive sales strategies that align with organizational goals, leveraging data-driven insights to maximize profitability. Leads high-performing sales teams with a focus on achieving ambitious revenue targets, expanding market share, and ensuring sustainable growth. Proactively collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance product positioning and drive customer satisfaction, fostering long-term business success.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, utilizing CRM tools to track and optimize performance by Implement a structured sales process based on CRM usage to drive and increase sales by a defined percentage each fiscal year.
- Bid on and distribute large event leads, ensuring a high conversion rate.
- Manage and mentor a sales team of 2-3 full time employees, providing visionary leadership to sales teams, setting clear goals, defining strategies, and driving execution to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Represent the museum and Boston Science Common at national and regional trade shows.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting processes for the department, providing accurate and timely monthly reports to the Vice President of the Department. Develop financial strategies to maximize profitability while managing costs effectively.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to maintain and develop all event-related collateral.

Salary Range
$100,000 - $125,000 USD
