About the Role
To help us do this work, we are looking for an experienced temporary Sourcer to manage the sourcing and attraction of candidates for specialized positions at The New York Times.
In the role, you will report to the Manager, Talent Sourcing. You will be an expert on the candidate market for our cross-functional product development function, with an emphasis on ensuring diverse pipelines. You will help grow these teams and help them become more diverse at all levels. You will conduct research, work with candidates, develop talent pipelines, and manage a candidate database.
This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days per week in our NYC headquarters.
What you’ll do:
- Identify and engage potential candidates with compelling, personalized messaging
- Infuse your work with an eye toward identifying unique talent with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences
- Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to generate strong talent pools that meet immediate and long-term hiring needs support a compliant and inclusive hiring process
- Meet potential candidates on professional networks and social media, and maintain a network of contacts for potential candidate referrals
- Proactively develop connections with prospective candidates across social media, professional networks, and nurture those relationships to grow our talent network
- Keep our internal systems and tools up to date and maintain accurate records of your outreach
- Conduct research-based sourcing, getting to know the current makeup of NYT teams and our hiring needs
- Inform our talent acquisition strategy using talent intelligence and market mapping skills
- Source for prospects using techniques like open-source web search, x-ray search, pdf search, and more
- Use your knowledge of boolean logic and the requirements of different search engines, including LinkedIn Recruiter, the open web, SeekOut, and our ATS
- Operate with flexibility, and be willing to do full-cycle recruiting work as necessary
- Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of talent sourcing or full-cycle recruiting experience with a focus on pipeline development for technical, product, design, or executive roles
- 1+ years of experience partnering with in-house recruiters
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working with an ATS, preferably Greenhouse
- 1+ years of experience working in an OFCCP-compliant environment
- 1+ years of experience conducting market research, mapping talent profiles, or building talent intelligence reports

The hourly rate of base pay for this role is:
$52.20 - $60.44 USD
