About the Role
Join our tax team in New York City as a Tax Manager, where you'll be a key member to the department. This role offers a significant opportunity to strengthen your expertise in ASC 740 and compliance with Federal, State and international tax regulations. You'll be responsible for income tax compliance, supporting strategic tax planning, and navigating complex regulations for our organization. We are looking for a professional with experience managing corporate tax filings and a desire for professional development.
Responsibilities:

Support global tax accounting and compliance functions, contributing to our overall tax strategy.

Prepare and review quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations, including deferred tax asset/liability analysis and financial statement disclosures.

Provide comprehensive support for financial reporting related to income tax, including FIN 48, cash tax analysis, and balance sheet activities.

Conduct detailed reviews of book/tax differences, leveraging tax automation tools.

Support the U.S. federal, state and international income tax compliance process, ensuring accurate filings.

Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on evolving tax laws, regulatory changes, and their impact on our tax strategy and operations.

Collaborate with tax, finance, and IT teams to implement and improve tax technology strategies, enhancing process efficiency and mitigating risk.

Manage tax audits, internal controls testing, and tax authority reviews, ensuring effective resolution of inquiries.

Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting procedures.

Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

You will report to the Tax Senior Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
-
4+ years of experience related to financial reporting, compliance and tax technology.

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Working knowledge of ASC 740 or experience in corporate tax compliance.

Experience adapting to different tax software systems (i.e. OneSource Tax Provision, CorpTax.)
Preferred Qualifications:

CPA and Master's degree.

Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.

Proficient in CorpTax, One Source Tax Provision, and Workday Finance.

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$125,000 - $145,000 USD
For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
