Job Description
The New York Times Wirecutter is looking for a strategic and relationship-driven Senior Manager of E-commerce Partnerships to lead our drop shipping supplier partner ecosystem. You will be at the heart of our commerce evolution, specifically focused on scaling partnerships for the Wirecutter Store. This is a hybrid role based in our New York headquarters, reporting to the Director of Learning & Development. You can typically expect to be in the office 3 days per week.
About the Role
You will be the primary architect of our supplier pipeline, identifying and onboarding the brands that meet Wirecutter's rigorous standards. You aren't just "selling" a partnership; you are building a curated marketplace that aligns with our mission to be the most trusted product recommendation service and affect Wirecutter's broader monetization goals.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, pitch, and close high-quality supplier partnerships within the Shopify Collective ecosystem that take into consideration broader monetization strategies..
- Identify and escalate opportunities where an e-commerce partnership could enhance or contribute to broader affiliate, advertising, and licensing deals.
- Partner with Analytics and Business Operations to identify product gaps and prioritize recruitment efforts that align with our broader e-commerce goals (revenue growth, repeat shopping, and curated collections).
- Be a central hub for communication, ensuring Customer Care Operations, Editorial, Marketing, Product, and Finance teams have full visibility into the onboarding pipeline and upcoming launches.
- Set the bar for output expectations and project direction, ensuring all partnership assets and communications meet Wirecutter's brand standards.
- Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
- You will report to the Executive Director, Commerce.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years in business development, partnership management, or marketplace operations.
- 7+ years of ecommerce user experience and performance marketing partnerships.
- 7+ years of experience with proactive client-side relationship management and presentations, and navigating a collaborative editorial environment.
- 4+ years of experience translating data insights into a recruitment roadmap and revenue optimization tactics.
- 4+ years of experience leading teams and complex, multi-partner projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Shopify Collective, Salesforce, and Airtable

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$140,000 - $150,000 USD
For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
