Systems Administrator

About the role:
The Nuclear Company is hiring for a Systems Administrator reporting into the Director of IT. You will be supporting the stability, integrity, and efficient operations of The Nuclear Company’s Information Technology systems that support organizational core functions. You will be involved in existing projects related to installation and configuration of IT Security, LAN/WAN, cloud, end point, and mobile device technologies. You will also help plan, implement, and maintain efficient LAN and Wireless services to support the current needs and ensure flexibility for extensive growth. You will play a key role in establishing a scalable base-line network infrastructure along with growing our Microsoft Azure environment. This role reports into the Director of IT.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers and networks.
- Oversee system performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Perform system upgrades following new releases.
- Administration of Azure AD, Office 365, and other like systems.
- Monitor and maintain critical systems such as switches, firewalls, servers, etc.
- Collect and analyze data to optimize performance.
- Make upgrades and repairs as needed.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout the site's LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Install hardware and software.
- Stay aware of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Assist with new user onboarding.
- Provide end user support.
- Conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
- Build internal technical documentation, manuals and IT operating procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with a ticketing/ITSM system a plus.
- Experience working with Azure a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of security best practices.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $70,000 - $83,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
