Office Manager and Executive Assistant

About the role:
The Nuclear Company is a dynamic and rapidly growing startup in the nuclear energy sector, located in Columbia, South Carolina. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Chief Nuclear Officer to join our team and provide essential support to our operations and leadership. This dual-role position will be the backbone of our office, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while providing high-level administrative support to the Chief Nuclear Officer. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly resourceful, and possess a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
Office Management:
- Manage all aspects of office operations, including supplies, equipment, and maintenance.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Assist with event planning and coordination.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Assist with onboarding new employees.
Executive Assistant:
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Chief Nuclear Officer including scheduling, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Manage confidential information with discretion.
- Screen and prioritize incoming communications.
- Conduct research and compile data as needed.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives.
- Prepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutes.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant, or in a similar administrative role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Proactive and resourceful problem-solver.
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
- Interest in the nuclear energy industry is a plus.
- Local to Columbia, South Carolina, or willing to relocate.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $70,000 - $83,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
