About the role:
The Director of Compliance is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of compliance frameworks, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to ethical business practices.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program that addresses all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Create and maintain clear policies and procedures to guide employee behavior and ensure compliance.
- Document Retention and Access: Develop systems and processes for document retention and retrieval across the organization.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Investigations and Audits: Conduct investigations into potential compliance violations and oversee internal and external audits.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to relevant regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and internal departments.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations.
- Ethical Culture: Promote a culture of ethical behavior and compliance throughout the organization.
Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in compliance or legal roles.
- Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Development of Enterprise Risk Management programs and implementation across the enterprise.
- Start-up experience; having to design and construct programs in a fast-growing start-up environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Development of compliance and risk management programs in a highly regulated, sensitive industry.
- International experience; developing programs in an international setting.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $176,000 - $204,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
