Director, Training

About the role:
The Training Director is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support the construction and operational readiness of TNC personnel. This role ensures the workforce is qualified and capable of performing assigned duties safely and effectively across all phases.
Responsibilities:
Training Program Oversight
- Develop and maintain accredited training programs for licensed and non-licensed personnel, in accordance with INPO and NRC standards.
- Ensure training programs align with operational goals and evolving regulatory requirements.
Personnel Qualification
- Ensure personnel receive initial and continuing training necessary to perform job functions.
- Monitor qualification and requalification status for all operations and support staff.
Curriculum Development
- Oversee the design, scheduling, and delivery of classroom, simulator, and on-the-job training.
- Review and approve training materials, lesson plans, and instructor guides.
Performance Assessment
- Evaluate training effectiveness through testing, observations, and performance indicators.
- Implement corrective actions for training gaps identified through evaluations, audits, or operational events.
Regulatory Compliance
- Interface with NRC and INPO during evaluations, audits, and accreditation reviews.
- Ensure timely response and corrective action implementation for training-related findings.
Leadership and Management
- Lead and mentor the training department staff, including instructors and curriculum developers.
- Manage the training budget, resource allocation, and administrative functions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments to ensure training supports plant needs.
- Communicate training program status and changes to senior leadership.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years in Commercial Nuclear Power Direct experience in a regulated nuclear environment is essential to understand safety culture, operational protocols, and compliance requirements.
- At least 5 years in Training Program Development or Delivery Proven experience developing and delivering accredited training programs (licensed/non-licensed operator, maintenance, technical staff) under NRC/INPO standards.
- Supervisory or Management Experience in Training Demonstrated leadership in managing training staff, curriculum, and program performance—ideally 3+ years.
- Strong Knowledge of NRC, INPO, and ACAD Requirements Hands-on experience applying 10 CFR 55, 10 CFR 50.120, INPO ACAD guidelines, and participating in audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.
- Nuclear Plant Operations Experience (e.g., RO/SRO or Equivalent) Either prior qualification as a Reactor Operator/Senior Reactor Operator or equivalent hands-on operational experience to align training with plant needs.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $198,000 - $228,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
