About the role:
The Nuclear Safety Culture Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization maintains a strong, transparent, and proactive safety environment in accordance with regulatory standards and industry best practice. This role oversees the development and execution of programs that support a healthy nuclear safety culture, drive continuous improvement through effective problem identification and resolution, and ensure employees have safe, confidential avenues to raise concerns. The manager works with company leadership to assess organizational health, promote accountability, and reinforce behaviors that prioritize nuclear safety.
Responsibilities:
Nuclear Safety Culture Oversight
- Lead initiatives that embed INPO and NRC-aligned safety culture traits across the organization; assess cultural health through surveys, focus groups, and performance data, and implement improvement strategies.
Corrective Action Program (CAP) Governance
- Ensure effective problem identification, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of issues under the site's CAP; maintain alignment with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, INPO, and internal quality standards.
Employee Concerns Program (ECP) Management
- Oversee the confidential intake, investigation, and resolution of employee concerns; maintain trust and integrity in the process while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidance and promoting open reporting.
Organizational Performance Assessment & Reporting
- Analyze trends from CAP, ECP, and culture data to identify organizational weaknesses; develop and present performance metrics and reports to senior leadership and regulatory agencies.
Leadership Engagement & Communication
- Provide coaching, training, and feedback to leadership on accountability, transparency, and behaviors that foster a strong safety culture; serve as a liaison with external stakeholders including NRC, INPO, and industry peers.
Experience
Nuclear Industry Experience – 7+ Years
- Direct experience in a commercial nuclear facility or nuclear oversight function, with strong familiarity with NRC regulations, INPO principles, and high-reliability organizational practices.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
