About the role:
The Chief of Staff to the Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO) will serve as a strategic partner and operational enabler for one of the most critical leadership roles in the company. This role supports the execution of nuclear program strategy, coordinates cross-functional initiatives, and ensures the CNO’s priorities are carried forward effectively. It requires a unique blend of systems thinking, project management, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to navigate the complex regulatory and technical landscape of nuclear energy.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Initiative Execution: Drive key programs and priorities under the CNO’s purview—including regulatory milestones, engineering execution, and cross-functional alignment.
- Operational Coordination: Act as a central hub across engineering, licensing, construction, and external affairs teams to ensure clarity, communication, and accountability.
- Executive Support: Prepare internal and external briefing materials, talking points, board updates, and strategic documents in support of the CNO’s work.
- Leadership Enablement: Manage the CNO’s strategic calendar, facilitate executive meetings, drive follow-through on action items, and identify areas for greater efficiency.
- Program & Partner Engagement: Support high-level external stakeholder relationships, including with regulatory bodies, national labs, partners, and vendors.
Experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in nuclear energy, advanced energy systems, engineering operations, or related regulated industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field required; advanced degree (e.g., M.S., MBA, MPA) preferred.
- Proven success supporting or partnering with C-suite or senior leadership in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage high-priority programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level presentations and reports.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to context-switch across technical, regulatory, and strategic domains.
- Deep understanding of or experience working within regulated industries, ideally involving the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Energy (DOE), or national labs.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and the ability to earn trust quickly across teams and leadership.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
