Senior General Ledger Accountant

Job Summary:
The General Ledger Accountant position is part of the Accounting department and will be responsible for various tasks related to month end close such as Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Payroll, Lease accounting and various general and administrative expenses and accruals. This position is located on-site in our Cerritos, CA headquarters, full-time.

Essential Job Duties:
• Responsible for the preparation of general ledger entries as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial results in accordance with GAAP
• Responsible for monthly account reviews to ensure proper coding and determine if accruals are needed
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations
• Prepares month-end and quarter-end variance analysis
• Prepares general accounting analyses and schedules provided to external auditors
• Supports SOX internal control monitoring requirements, SEC reporting, external auditors and other financial reporting processes
• Contribute to strategic planning as it relates to budgeting and forecasting
• Participate in company meetings, webinars and conference calls
• Other duties as assigned in response to changing business conditions and requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent
• 3 or more years of related accounting experience
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent accounting and operational skills with a strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish strong partnerships with all levels of management both internally and externally
• Able to work efficiently and effectively, both in teams and independently, in order to manage multiple tasks and/or projects with hard deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environment, strong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to identify and implement process improvement capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems
  • Experience in healthcare industry and public accounting
  • Experience and knowledge in lease accounting and prepaids
