JOB TITLE: Supervisor, Advanced Practices Providers

FUNCTION: Advanced Practice Providers

REPORT TO (TITLE): Director, Advanced Practice Providers

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Director of APP, in addition to seeing patients, the Supervisor will provide APP leadership to the APP staff at TOI and serve as a liaison between the APP staff and administration in their region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Live and exemplify TOI core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members.
  • Maintain active clinical practice, All the duties and responsibilities of a Clinical and Hospital APP
  • Provide supervision of the APP staff in assigned region.
  • Assure APP staff compliance with TOI practices, policies, and algorithms, Oversee APP’s daily operations, ensuring adherence to ethics and quality standards in the delivery of advanced practice care
  • Actively participate in quality initiatives, Help with EOM, Palliative Care, Biosimilar changes, etc and IKM projects.
  • Provide medical expertise and guidance to APP staff, Be available for IKM support/ or medical questions for APPs
  • Work with APP staff and administration to ensure adequate clinic and triage coverage, Approve Time Off requests and update triage schedule
  • Work with APP staff and administration to ensure adequate hospital coverage
  • Work with Medical Directors and MDs to facilitate healthy communication and promote a healthy work relationship between APPs and other Staff including MDs.
  • Actively engage in hiring of clinical APP staff, Help with interviewing potential APPs.
  • Serve as mentor and resource to newly hired APPs, Help set up training schedule for new APP. Including training new APPs in assigned region.
  • Help set up training for all APPs/quarterly meeting
  • Assist in APP onboarding as asked by the Director of APPs. Possibly help train new MDs on IKM,
  • With the Director, discipline APP staff as needed
  • Weekly or every 2-week check-in with APPs
  • Perform performance reviews, triage audits, collect MD/OM reviews
  • Participate in department meeting/planning, advocate for APPs within the growing corporation.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Executive Officer, or their designee

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and otherwise.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Mastery of computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point and applicable electronic medical software programs.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, healthcare technology, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to professional growth, lifelong learning, and ethical conduct in healthcare leadership.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as an advanced practice clinician, with demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.

PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.
