
Managing Director and VP, Kings Road Merch – International
Location: Berlin or Dortmund
The Managing Director, Kings Road Merch – International is a senior general management and P&L leader responsible for building and scaling Kings Road Merch outside of the United States. As Co–Managing Director alongside the U.S.-based MD, this role has full accountability for international strategy, revenue growth, profitability, and execution across all aspects of the business—including artist relationships, commercial strategy, operations, supply chain coordination, and organizational build-out.
This leader will initially oversee Germany, and build out the UK, and Australia, with expansion into Latin America and Asia as the business scales. The role requires a proven operator who can combine commercial leadership with operational rigor, while working in close partnership with Sony Music’s and The Orchard’s labels and the Sony Music D2C platform.
What you'll do:
- Own full P&L responsibility for Kings Road Merch’s international business, including revenue, margin, cost control, and long-term profitability.
- Act as Co–Managing Director of Kings Road Merch, partnering closely with the U.S. MD to set global strategy, operating standards, and growth priorities.
- Lead and scale Kings Road’s international footprint, initially across Germany, the UK, and Australia, with responsibility for future expansion into Latin America and Asia.
- Drive commercial growth across artist merchandising, D2C, and physical channels, ensuring strong alignment with label and artist objectives.
- Oversee international operations including forecasting, inventory planning, local execution, and coordination with global supply chain and fulfillment partners.
- Build and lead high-performing international teams, including hiring, org design, performance management, and culture.
- Partner closely with the Sony Music D2C organization to leverage shared D2C technology, data, customer service, and fulfillment infrastructure.
- Maintain senior relationships with artists, managers, labels, and key external partners.
Who you are:
- 15+ years of senior leadership experience in merchandising, consumer products, D2C, or adjacent entertainment/consumer businesses.
- Proven experience running a multi-country business with full P&L ownership.
- Strong international operating experience across Europe and other global markets; exposure to LatAm and Asia a plus.
- Deep understanding of artist-led or brand-led merchandise businesses, including both creative and operational dimensions.
- Commercially sharp, financially fluent, and comfortable making high-impact investment and resource-allocation decisions.
- Collaborative leader with the ability to operate as a peer at the most senior level.
