Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, high-energy Inventory Manager to lead and scale our inbound inventory operations in a high-throughput pharmacy production facility. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the intake of hundreds of SKUs daily, ensuring inventory accuracy, managing vendors and couriers, and building a disciplined inventory team that thrives on speed, accountability, and precision.
This is not a typical inventory role — it’s a mission-critical leadership position where tech-savviness, real-time decision-making, and cross-functional coordination with Fulfillment, Inventory Control, and Production teams are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory intake operations: Manage all aspects of inbound inventory activities, including the timely and accurate processing of incoming products and materials.
- Supervise and manage staff: Lead a team of inventory personnel, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Implement inventory procedures: Develop and implement processes that promote efficient intake, verification, and documentation of products or materials.
- Maintain inventory records: Create and maintain accurate records and documentation of all incoming inventory and shipments.
- Inspect incoming products: Ensure quality and compliance with standards for all inventory received.
- Coordinate with suppliers: Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of inventory items.
- Collaborate with other departments: Work with procurement, inventory control, and warehouse management to streamline operations and resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory area: Ensure the inbound inventory area adheres to safety and organizational standards.
- Train and mentor staff: Provide training and support to the inventory team.
- Manage the flow of incoming inventory: Oversee and optimize the process from arrival through system entry and storage.
- Report inventory discrepancies: Identify and report any issues to appropriate personnel.
- Lead all inventory intake operations for a high-volume SKU environment (hundreds daily).
- Build and coach a team focused on speed, accuracy, and accountability.
- Design and enforce inventory SOPs to minimize shrink, miscounts, and delays.
- Maintain real-time visibility in our inventory and warehouse management systems.
- Own the inbound inventory calendar, including courier schedules and supplier drop-offs.
- Work closely with pharmacy production, inventory control, and fulfillment leads to ensure seamless throughput.
- Collaborate on SKU labeling, barcode scanning, and putaway workflows.
- Identify process gaps and lead data-driven optimizations to scale capacity.
- Enforce compliance, quality standards, and lot tracking for regulated products.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years in a supervisory or management role within a warehouse, inventory, or logistics environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and relevant IT systems.
- Knowledge of regulations: Familiarity with inventory and shipping compliance regulations.
- Certifications: Safety or forklift certifications preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail — ensuring accuracy in reviewing, inspecting, and documenting inventory.
- Ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with team members, suppliers, and other departments.
- Problem-solving abilities related to inventory discrepancies or workflow.
- Proven experience managing inventory operations in high-volume environments (pharma, medical supply, e-commerce, CPG).
- Strong background in warehouse technology (ERP/WMS/Barcode scanning).
- Highly organized and focused on accuracy and process flow.
- Analytical thinker with fluency in metrics, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Strong leadership skills — promotes discipline, performance, and team culture.
- Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment while maintaining clarity.
- Energetic, positive, and motivated to build world-class operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated inventory environments.
- Lean or Six Sigma background.
- Familiarity with Excel, Airtable, ShipStation, NetSuite, or WMS platforms.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Job Type:
