Statistician
The Phoenix is seeking a statistician to play a key role in advancing research that will shape the future of recovery support. This role will be based in Boston, MA. In this role, you will deliver insights that deepen our understanding of addiction and mental health recovery and contribute to disseminating findings that can influence the field. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Optimization: Work with the research team to enhance and streamline data collection processes, ensuring the reliability and validity of metrics used to track member outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Data Analytics and Modeling: Perform complex statistical analyses and advanced modeling to deepen our understanding of The Phoenix model and NewForm. Validate and refine existing measures or develop new measures where necessary, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Prospective Research Study: Collaborate with the research team and other departments on the design and planning of a large-scale study tracking key metrics for Phoenix and NewForm members over time, ensuring robust methodology.
- Ethics and Rigor: Maintain the highest standards of research ethics and rigor, ensuring compliance with IRB protocols and responsible data handling. Stay updated on best practices in addiction and mental health research.
- Science Communication: Tailor and present quantitative research findings to the wider research team and other potential stakeholders through various methods such as academic articles, data visualization, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- AI Applications: Explore opportunities to leverage AI to enhance analytics, streamline data operations, and drive future member engagement strategies.
- Collaboration and Thought Leadership: Actively contribute to cross-departmental discussions, challenge ideas, and inspire others through research insights. Act as a thought partner within the research team and broader organization, engaging with external experts and research collaborators to advance The Phoenix’s and NewForm’s impact.
- Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: PhD preferred, Master’s required, or equivalent experience in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field
- Experience: 3+ years in data analytics, statistical modeling, or a related role
- Technical Background: Proficiency in statistical analysis and tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL) and experience with advanced data modeling techniques
- Communication: Ability to effectively convey complex data insights both verbally and in writing, including through visualizations and outputs such as reports, presentations, and journal articles, tailored to diverse audiences
- This position will work out of our NewMarket Boston Facility approximately twice a week, flexible on schedule. Possible national travel approximately once per quarter for conferences and team meetings.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
- $88,900.00 - $100,500.00
