Contractor - Lifecycle Marketing

The scope of this contract position includes the build-out of an automated engagement engine, creating sophisticated, cross-channel journeys that deepen member engagement and grow our volunteer community. You'll work closely with the Associate Director of Digital Communications to bring lifecycle marketing campaigns to life through Phoenix and NewForm platforms, creating seamless experiences that nurture, engage, and inspire our growing community of 700,000+ members and 3000+ volunteers. You'll own the technical execution of our lifecycle program, from audience segmentation and journey mapping to message deployment and performance optimization.
CONTRACT SCOPE
- Execute lifecycle marketing journeys across Phoenix and NewForm platforms, including Braze campaign builds, advanced segmentation, and automated triggers
- Draft, test, and deploy compelling messaging across owned digital channels (email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging)
- Build and maintain dynamic segments based on behavior, preferences, and journey stage
- Manage end-to-end performance reporting, conducting regular analysis and optimization of campaign metrics
- Ensure segmentation hygiene and data accuracy to maintain deliverability and list health
- Collaborate with Associate Director of Digital Communications on journey design, A/B testing frameworks, and continuous system improvements
- Design and optimize flows that grow our member base, increase event attendance, deepen app engagement/use, and convert members to volunteers
- Implement personalization strategies and dynamic content based on member preferences and behaviors
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with lifecycle marketing platforms (Braze experience strongly preferred)
- Proven track record building automated email marketing campaigns, drip sequences, and behavioral triggers
- Advanced skills in audience segmentation, data analysis, and campaign performance optimization
- Experience with A/B testing, conversion optimization, and retention marketing strategies
- Strong copywriting abilities for digital channels with understanding of mobile-first messaging
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting tools
- Detail-oriented approach to campaign QA, testing, and troubleshooting
- Experience working with large-scale consumer audiences (100K+ preferred)
