Site Director
Position Summary
The Site Director serves as the leader for the organization’s presence in the Tampa region, advancing the mission to build and sustain a sober, active community that supports long-term recovery from substance use disorder. The Site Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all local activities, including community engagement, fundraising, grant stewardship, staff supervision, budget management, and Board cultivation and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the Tampa Chapter in alignment with the organization’s national mission and priorities.
- Partner with the Senior Director of Programs and local Board to develop and execute a local strategic plan focused on inclusion, growth, sustainability, and measurable community impact.
- Serve as the public representative and spokesperson for the Tampa site, fostering collaboration among community stakeholders, recovery organizations, treatment providers, and government agencies.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, wellness, and active recovery across all chapter operations and programs.
Community Center Development
- Lead local planning and coordination for the identification, selection, and preparation of a site for a new community center if and when approved.
- Collaborate with the national operations and facilities teams to manage timelines, partnerships, and community engagement related to the center’s development.
- Ensure the community center embodies the organization’s mission and provides a welcoming environment.
Program Oversight & Staff Supervision
- Supervise local staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality, mission-aligned programming and effective team performance.
- Collaborate with national program staff to implement initiatives that promote a sober, active community.
- Maintain oversight of program budgets, metrics, and reporting to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Work collaboratively with the national development team to align local fundraising strategies with organizational campaigns and objectives.
- Lead local fundraising initiatives including major gifts, sponsorships, events, and donor engagement activities.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with local donors, corporations, and community partners.
Grant Stewardship
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities in partnership with the national grants team and local board members.
- Manage local grant stewardship, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, documentation standards, and funder expectations.
- Track and report on grant-funded program outcomes and financial expenditures in coordination with the national finance and program teams.
Board Engagement
- Serve as the staff liaison to the Tampa Impact Board, providing support for governance, strategy, and fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate board meetings, reports, and communications to ensure transparency and alignment between the board and national leadership.
- Partner with board members to expand visibility, strengthen community relationships, and enhance local advocacy efforts.
Community Engagement
- Represent the organization within Tampa’s recovery, health, and community service networks.
- Build authentic, collaborative relationships that support community-based recovery efforts and promote awareness of sober active lifestyles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant management, and board relations.
- Strong understanding of substance use disorder, recovery principles, and peer-support or wellness-based program models.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and lead teams in dynamic, mission-driven settings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Lived experience in recovery or close familiarity with recovery communities strongly preferred but not required.
- Pre-existing connections to the recovery community or the broader philanthropic community in the Tampa area are strongly preferred but not required.
Salary and Benefits
- $95,000 - $105,000 annually (please be aware that most offers fall below the top of the range and are based on a variety of factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity among the team, and market indicators)

$95,000 - $105,000 USD
