The Refinery is an award-winning entertainment advertising agency based out of Los Angeles, CA. We work with all of the major studios producing social, digital, and print creative campaigns for theatrical, television & streamer clients.

As Director, Social Media, you'll lead the charge on all things social: clients, creative, and strategy. If you’ve got strong entertainment clients and know how to grow relationships, we want you to jump on board. We are looking for someone comfortable pitching, who gets energy from ideating with the team and is not afraid to dive into project management details. You need to know the platforms, live in the trends and love social and entertainment. Sound exciting? Let’s chat!

Responsibilities

Business Development / Trends

  • You will build and maintain client relationships to help grow our social portfolio
  • Lead business development efforts including pitches, RFPs, and outreach to clients
  • Lead pitch process and build strategies that result in a high win percentage
  • Keep up with social technology, specs, and trends (platform, audience, cultural, influencer, etc.)
  • Translate trends/insights into ideas that resonate with clients and fans

Campaign Management

  • Oversee social media campaigns from concepting / ideation to campaign management
  • Develop engaging and on-brand copy tailored to each platform and audience
  • Develop creative, strategic, and innovative ideas with the team
  • Create a cohesive, unified voice/tone for each campaign
  • Work with Producers to build and optimize production timelines
  • When applicable, work with the Community Manager to manage daily posts, monitor campaign progress, and perform final quality assurance on all creative deliverables

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on social media marketing experience in the entertainment space
  • Must have existing strong relationships with clients working in social media at top studios/streamers
  • Experience delivering multiple creative campaigns across various social channels
  • Ability to provide original ideas and win new business
  • A collaborative, positive, and professional tone and approach

Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 USD
Rate offered will be dependent on factors such as one’s qualifications, years of relevant experience and skillset. If your requirements fall outside of the stated pay range, we still encourage you to apply.
