Business Development Manager

Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position include sales leadership and managing a dynamic team of sales professionals with ambitious annual sales targets. This role necessitates expertise in sales, sales management, strategy development, maintaining high levels of sales activity, delivering impactful sales presentations, and achieving the company's financial sales goals and growth objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet sales targets and expand market presence.
- Drive company growth by building and nurturing relationships with new and existing customers.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team, set clear objectives, and motivate team members to achieve their goals.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coach and mentor the sales team to enhance their selling skills and industry knowledge, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to excel.
- Conduct regular sales performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure individual and team success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Prepare and present proposals, bids, and contracts to prospective customers, negotiate terms, and ensure profitability and alignment with company policies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Adhere to the company's established sales training, strategies, and processes.
- Ensure the sales team maintains up-to-date and accurate sales activities and notes in the company CRM.
- Respond to potential customer needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain professional and positive business relationships with all office personnel.
- Perform other duties and tasks as directed by management.
Experience/Education:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- High school degree and specific job-related experience.
- 10+ years of sales/sales leadership experience.
- Proven success in coaching and developing people.
- Strong understanding of proactive sales funnel management and tracking sales activity.
- Critical thinker and problem-solver with a growth mindset.
- Ability to travel within the assigned sales territory as needed, including potential overnight travel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and use of software platforms, business systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and shared cloud-based drives.
- Self-motivated, confident, independent, and organized.
- Positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm to drive sales and company growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Capable of delivering presentations in front of owners and key decision-makers.
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Sitting for prolonged periods at a desk while using a computer.
- Typing and using a mouse frequently throughout the workday.
- Lifting and carrying light office supplies, such as paper or small packages, typically weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Reaching and bending to access file cabinets and shelves.
- Using a telephone for extended periods to communicate with customers and employees.
- Visual acuity to read and interpret documents, emails, and computer screens.
- Hearing ability to understand and respond to customer inquiries and communicate with colleagues.
- Ability to traverse uneven surfaces and climb ladders during site visits.
