HVAC Project Sales Manager

Summary:
Project Sales Manager will drive project sales and manage relationships with businesses needing HVAC solutions for commercial, industrial, and large-scale projects. The role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, technical expertise, and experience in HVAC project management. The Project Sales Manager will engage with decision-makers to deliver tailored solutions and self-generate project opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to acquire new B2B clients and expand existing relationships.
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate HVAC systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Prepare and present proposals, including cost estimates, timelines, and technical specifications.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close profitable sales.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor project progress and manage customer expectations.
- Stay updated on HVAC industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Identify opportunities to expand market share in the B2B space.
- Attend industry events to generate leads and network.
- Track sales activity and project progress in CRM software.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
- Provide feedback to management on market conditions and customer needs.
- Collaborate with operations and marketing teams for successful project delivery and strategy development.
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting and relationship building.
- Present proposals, bids, and contracts to customers and negotiate terms.
- Always ensure professional representation of the company.
- Follow established sales processes and strategies.
- Utilize cold calling scripts and coach sales reps to effectively book appointments.
- Maintain accurate sales activity records in CRM.
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain positive relationships with office personnel.
- Be punctual for all meetings and work-related activities.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
Experience and Skills:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- High school degree or equivalent
- 10+ years of HVAC experience
- Proven success in coaching and developing people.
- Strong understanding of proactive sales funnel management and tracking sales activity.
- Critical thinker and problem-solver with a growth mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and use of software platforms, business systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and shared cloud-based drives.
- Self-motivated, confident, independent, and organized.
- Positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm to drive sales and company growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Capable of delivering presentations in front of owners and key decision-makers.
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Sitting for prolonged periods at a desk while using a computer.
- Typing and using a mouse frequently throughout the workday.
- Lifting and carrying light office supplies, such as paper or small packages, typically weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Reaching and bending to access file cabinets and shelves.
- Using a telephone for extended periods to communicate with customers and employees.
- Visual acuity to read and interpret documents, emails, and computer screens.
- Hearing ability to understand and respond to customer inquiries and communicate with colleagues.
- Ability to traverse uneven surfaces and climb ladders during site visits.
- Ability to travel within the assigned sales territory as needed, including potential overnight travel.
