Sustainability and Impact Intern

London

Vita Coco is the leading coconut water brand in the world, built on a simple idea: bring better-for-you, natural hydration to more people. Since starting in 2004, we’ve grown into a global business with teams in New York, London, and Singapore, and we’re now publicly traded on NASDAQ under COCO.

As a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp, we’re committed to supporting farming communities, sourcing responsibly, and building products that are better for people and the planet. We move fast, stay scrappy, and care deeply about doing the right thing.

We’re now looking for someone who’s excited to join a growing, purpose-driven company and help shape what comes next.

Our Values:

  • Human First: We lead with inclusivity, transparency, and empathy.
  • Nothing is Impossible: We experiment, learn, and keep moving forward.
  • United by Our Will to Win: We stay aligned, work collaboratively, and push toward shared goals.
  • Part of Something Bigger: We’re committed to uplifting the communities we’re connected to locally and globally

IN A NUTSHELL, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...

  • Data collection, analysis and reporting: day-to-day data management of sustainability data, reporting, verification, monitoring and evaluation of Vita Coco’s impact programming.
  • Compliance: support the business in tracking relevant UK and European sustainability reporting requirements and preparing information for compliance.
  • Internal communication & impact: help communicate and coordinate internal impact programmes, such as volunteering, product donations and insight-led storytelling with our partner functions.
  • Developing our sustainability and social impact narrative: support Category and Sales teams to create compelling ESG narratives using storytelling tools such as sell sheets and presentation materials for customers.
  • Project management: support key areas of Vita Coco’s recertification process for third-party assessments such as B Corp.

IN MORE DETAIL, THIS MEANS:

  • Collaborate with various departments to collect, validate, and analyse data on sustainability and social impact metrics
  • Support the accuracy, consistency and compliance of sustainability data in line with reporting standards.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting inputs in line with communications from the US team.
  • Provide project support for global ESG initiatives, acting as the key point of contact for UK and European actions where required.
  • Champion ESG activity across the business, helping colleagues understand priorities, actions and progress.
  • Organising charity partnership volunteering opportunities for colleagues
  • Support sustainability certification and assessment processes where required for B Corp recertification and ISO-related requests
  • Respond to retailer ESG requests and help streamline the process as the business, reporting requirements and available data evolve.

The job description is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake other duties in line with their ability and the changing needs of the business.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3 months of experience working in Sustainability
  • Holistic understanding of environmental impacts, key issues in society, and the intersection of culture and business
  • Able to communicate competently on a wide array of ESG issues
  • Clear verbal and written English skills to summarize complex concepts into concise reports.
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills with a demonstrated ability to create compelling content for diverse audiences
  • Strong time-management skills and a highly organised approach.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable handling quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Be a proactive self-starter and independent thinker but a team player.
  • Confident user ability in MS Excel and PowerPoint and curiosity to use tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • A passion for working in the food and drink industry and, last but not least, a love of coconut water!
