Job brief:

As a Technical Program Manager for Consumer Data at the Weather Company, you will guide the instrumentation of consumer data collection that supports reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases. You will lead our consumer data quality initiatives across our digital ecosystem, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of consumer data collected from our applications and websites. You will also bridge the gap between business analytics needs & technical data infrastructure while collaborating closely with front-end development teams to implement robust data tracking solutions. 

The impact you'll make:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, such as product, marketing, and content managers, to understand business analytics requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Work with the enterprise data architect to define data plans, tracking requirements, and specifications for downstream consumer behavior analytics.
  • Partner with front-end application developers to implement comprehensive event tracking systems.
  • Review and approve tracking implementation to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
  • Guide data quality analysts to investigate potential or existing data issues. Work cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • Work with data scientists, data and BI engineers, and business analytics teams to ensure data accessibility and usability.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive data quality standards and governance frameworks for consumer data.
  • Design and implement data validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of consumer behavioral data.
  • Develop automated data quality checks and alerting systems, such as data quality dashboards.
  • Establish best practices for data instrumentation across web and mobile applications.
  • Lead the design and implementation of consumer data collection frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for data infrastructure and processes.
  • Ensure data lineage documentation and metadata management.

What you've accomplished:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, software engineering, or related technical roles.
  • 3+ years of experience managing consumer data from digital applications and websites.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with both relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
  • Knowledge of customer data platforms (CDPs) and consumer data collection methods such as SDKs, cookies, pixels, and APIs.
  • Experience with event tracking frameworks and familiar with integrating tracking among multiple partners to collect data across systems.
  • Understanding of web and mobile analytics implementation (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel).
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and their impact on data collection practices.
  • Understanding of A/B testing frameworks and experimentation platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-based data lake solutions (AWS S3/Glue/Athena, Azure Data Lake, Google Cloud Storage/BigQuery).
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Base Salary: $130,000 – $160,000

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
