Job brief:

This is a newly created position — and that is exactly the point. This role does not come with a fully built playbook, a defined team beneath it, or a clear map of where it ends up. What it comes with is tremendous scope, real ownership, and the opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up across three disciplines that are each at an early, high-potential stage for our business.

Some parts of this role are established enough to hit the ground running. Others are deliberately open — nascent ideas that need someone with the vision and initiative to define what they become. You will be expected to bring your own structure, your own hypotheses, and your own energy. If you do your best work when a role is clearly scoped with established processes, defined lanes, and step-by-step guidance, this is not the right fit. But if you are energized by ambiguity, motivated by ownership, and capable of building clarity where little exists — we want to talk to you. We are looking for a self-starter who can operate with limited resources, move fast, test ideas, and grow this function in direct support of our subscription goals.

The impact you'll make:

Pillar 1: Affiliate Marketing Program Launch & Management

You will own the end-to-end launch of The Weather Company’s Affiliate Marketing program on Commission Junction, then manage and scale it on an ongoing basis. This is the most defined and immediately actionable part of the role.

  • Lead the full setup and launch of our affiliate program on Commission Junction, including technical configuration, partner onboarding, commission structures, and tracking.
  • Develop and manage the affiliate creative suite — banners, copy, landing pages, and seasonal assets — ensuring brand consistency and performance optimization.
  • Recruit, vet, and onboard affiliate partners aligned to our audience and subscription goals.
  • Own ongoing program performance: monitor KPIs, optimize commission structures, conduct partner QBRs, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the Commission Junction platform and troubleshoot technical and reporting issues.
  • Partner with internal development teams by creating clear, detailed requirements for any technical needs related to tracking, integrations, or landing page builds.
  • Stay current on affiliate industry trends, competitor programs, and emerging partner opportunities.

Pillar 2: Premium Perks Program Management & Evolution

Premium Perks is an existing partner benefit program tied to our subscription offering. You will take ownership of its day-to-day operations while also leading the strategic evolution of what the program can become.

Ongoing Program Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for all current Premium Perks partners, ensuring strong communication, contract adherence, and mutual value.
  • Onboard new partners to the program with a structured, repeatable process.
  • Own all consumer-facing creative and messaging related to Premium Perks, coordinating with design and brand as needed.
  • Track program engagement and partner performance, reporting on impact to subscription acquisition and retention.

This is where the role gets entrepreneurial. We are exploring the evolution of Premium Perks from a feature embedded in our subscription funnel into a standalone Offer Wall — a destination in its own right.

  • Develop the concept, structure, and business case for transitioning Premium Perks into a standalone Offer Wall product.
  • Define the partner value proposition and build the pitch materials for the you and the Business Development team to use in outreach.
  • Establish the pricing architecture and tiering logic for participation in the Offer Wall.
  • Define requirements and work collaboratively with the product and development teams to bring the Offer Wall concept to life.
  • Identify the right mix of partner categories and verticals to make the Offer Wall compelling to consumers.

Pillar 3: New Subscription Distribution Channels

The third pillar of this role is the most exploratory — and perhaps the most exciting. We believe there are meaningful opportunities to reach prospective subscribers in the moments and places where weather is most relevant to their daily lives.

You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and piloting new subscription distribution opportunities that meet people outside of digital channels — whether in grocery stores, transit hubs, outdoor venues, or other touchpoints woven into everyday life.

  • Research and map non-traditional distribution environments where TWC and weather utility intersect with consumer need (transit, retail, travel, outdoor/recreation, etc.).
  • Develop partnership proposals and activation concepts for pilot programs in priority channels.
  • Build the business case for new distribution bets, including audience sizing, cost structure, and projected subscription impact.
  • Pilot, measure, and iterate on distribution activations with a test-and-learn mindset.
  • Bring forward creative ideas for how to connect consumers to the value of TWC at relevant moments throughout their day.

What you've accomplished:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in affiliate marketing, partnership marketing, or a closely related growth marketing discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience launching an affiliate program from the ground up, ideally on Commission Junction or a comparable platform.
  • Strong understanding of affiliate program mechanics: tracking, attribution, commission structures, creative management, and partner recruitment.
  • Proven ability to manage external partner relationships with professionalism and accountability.
  • Comfort creating functional requirements for development and product teams — you can translate a marketing need into a clear technical brief.
  • Highly self-directed with a track record of building programs or initiatives with limited guidance and resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build persuasive pitch materials and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to define KPIs, interpret performance data, and make optimization decisions.
  • Comfortable adopting AI tools (such as Claude, Mercury, and similar platforms) as part of daily workflow, with a genuine willingness to learn new tools as our organization continues to invest in them. We value speed to market and productivity, and provide the tools, training, and support to help you work smarter and faster.

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience with Commission Junction (CJ Affiliate) managing a brand’s affiliate program.
  • Experience with subscription-based business models and an understanding of acquisition and retention economics.
  • Background in developing go-to-market strategies for new products or program concepts.
  • Experience in media, digital publishing, or consumer app categories.
  • Familiarity with non-digital or out-of-home distribution and partnership models.

Base Salary: $85,000 - $110,000

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.

TWCo Benefits/Perks:
  • Flexible Time Off program
  • Hybrid work model
  • Variety of medical insurance options including a $0 cost premium employee coverage
  • Benefits effective day 1 of employment include competitive 401K match with no vesting requirement, national health, dental, and vision plans
  • Progressive family plan benefits
  • An opportunity to work for a global and industry-leading technology company
  • Impactful work in a collaborative environment

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
