We are looking for people who are curious, adaptable, and excited to help shape an AI-enabled culture that delivers better outcomes for our customers and our company.

Job brief:

As an Engagement Editor, you sit at the center of how our programming team plans, produces, and promotes content for millions of daily users. This is a technical role as much as an editorial one: you'll work hands-on with AI tools and algorithmic curation every day, and you're equally comfortable with editorial judgment and technical execution. You know how to get the right content to the right people at the right time. You'll help carry our vision for content curation and promotion into day-to-day decisions, bringing technical curation knowledge into the team's work along the way. This role is based in New York or Atlanta, with three days a week in office, and reports to the Director, Programming.

The impact you'll make:

  • Push alerts: Write and send breaking-news and editorial push notifications to standard: right story, right moment, right audience, without over-firing
  • App banners: Build, schedule, and update in-app banners and promo slots
  • Homepage: Curate and merchandise the homepage and key landing surfaces, keeping placement fresh as stories develop
  • Modules & curation surfaces — manage on-site and in-app content modules
  • Design and execute compelling content experiences by leveraging strategic messaging, cohesive module branding, and data-driven timing.
  • Provide data-based feedback to the newsroom about what’s trending and how to shift coverage.
  • Test and adjust headlines, packaging, and placement to grow engagement.

Help drive our content agenda

  • Bring strong news judgment and a clear sense of what audiences want and need, helping inform what the content team covers and how it's framed.
  • Use data, alongside AI-backed algorithmic curation tools, to drive planning and programming decisions, balancing what the numbers say with what the audience needs.
  • Help keep a forward-looking content calendar that gets the team ahead of known events.
  • Build and apply deep fluency with AI tools to speed up planning and programming, without cutting corners on accuracy or quality.
  • Know a good story and a good headline, not just a good metric — and help flag when a story deserves a bigger push.
  • Help translate a strategic vision for the team's content into the day-to-day calls that put the right content in front of the right people at the right time, using algorithmic and AI-powered tools to get there.

Raise the bar on production

  • Set and hold a high bar for editorial quality — accuracy, voice, and craft — across everything that the programming team manages.
  • Bring working knowledge of display copy, SEO/AEO, visual storytelling, and video to how content gets built and packaged, and use AI tools to make that work faster without lowering the bar.
  • Flag quality issues early and push back when something isn't ready, even under time pressure.

Partner across the content team

  • Coordinate closely with the content team so programming decisions reflect what's actually being produced, not just what the data shows.
  • Bring the confidence to set tone and push back — on story selection, framing, or promotion calls — when your judgment says otherwise.
  • Translate between editorial and technical priorities, and bring technical curation knowledge into the team's day-to-day work.

Grow engagement and reach

  • Own homepage and push curation on your shifts, with working fluency in the algorithms and mechanics that drive visibility.
  • Turn feedback data into clear, actionable calls on timing, packaging, and placement.
  • Optimize headlines, alerts, and modules for engagement, and build on what works.

What you've accomplished:

  • Strong news judgment and a proven ability to make editorial calls about what matters most to the audience, and how to get it to them at the right time.
  • Real, hands-on experience with algorithmically curated landing experiences — comfortable with the mechanics that drive visibility and engagement, not just the concepts.
  • Working familiarity with display copy, SEO/AEO, visual storytelling, and video production.
  • Proven editorial decision-making with a high quality bar: a stickler for accuracy, voice, and craft.
  • Track record of making data-backed decisions — comfortable reading analytics and turning them into action.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to make editorial work faster or better without lowering standards.
  • Curious with a growth mindset: eager to learn new tools and workflows, open to feedback, and willing to push back when existing systems aren't efficient.
TWCo Benefits/Perks:
  • Flexible Time Off program
  • Hybrid work model
  • Variety of medical insurance options including a $0 cost premium employee coverage
  • Benefits effective day 1 of employment include competitive 401K match with no vesting requirement, national health, dental, and vision plans
  • Progressive family plan benefits
  • An opportunity to work for a global and industry-leading technology company
  • Impactful work in a collaborative environment
