This is a contracted W2 position for 6+ months. Hourly Rate: $50.00-$55.00 per hour.
Position Overview
The Wilshire Group is seeking an experienced Epic Business Systems Analyst – Patient Access to support the operational and technical needs of a healthcare organization utilizing the Epic platform.
The Epic Business Systems Analyst ensures that the operational interests of assigned functional areas are effectively represented in the day-to-day operations of the Information Systems Department. This consultant will support the Epic applications and partner with operational stakeholders, IT teams, and application leadership to ensure technology solutions align with business and clinical needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare IT and business analysis experience, along with Epic expertise in one or more Patient Access applications, including Prelude, Cadence, Grand Central, or Referrals.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between operational stakeholders and the Information Systems Department to ensure business needs are effectively represented.
- Support the ongoing operations, optimization, and enhancement of assigned Epic applications.
- Analyze business processes, workflows, and system requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with operational leaders, end users, application teams, and technical resources to understand business needs and develop effective solutions.
- Participate in requirements gathering, workflow analysis, system design, testing, issue resolution, and implementation activities.
- Evaluate the impact of Epic system changes on existing workflows and downstream processes.
- Assist with troubleshooting application and workflow issues and coordinate appropriate resolution.
- Support testing activities, including test planning, execution, validation, and documentation.
- Provide recommendations regarding system functionality, workflow optimization, and process improvement.
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to requirements, workflows, system changes, testing, and operational processes.
- Support Epic upgrades, enhancements, implementations, and other system initiatives as assigned.
- Participate in meetings with business and technical stakeholders and communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations.
- Ensure solutions support organizational objectives, operational efficiency, and a positive end-user experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of IT work experience; OR
- Three (3) years of work experience in business analysis within a hospital or healthcare organization; OR
- High school diploma or GED and nine (9) years of IT work experience.
- Epic certification in at least one of the following applications:
- Prelude
- Cadence
- Grand Central
- Referrals
- Experience working with healthcare information systems and business/operational stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to translate operational requirements into effective technology solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Community Connect Epic Patient Access build.
- Experience supporting Epic Patient Access workflows within a hospital or health system environment.
- Experience with multiple Epic Patient Access applications.
- Experience working within complex healthcare IT environments and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Epic implementations, optimization, upgrades, or system enhancements.
- Strong understanding of patient access workflows and the relationship between operational processes and Epic system functionality.
