Position Overview:
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be responsible for leading the technology vision and overseeing all software engineering activities at . You will drive the development of high-performance trading platforms, focus on real-time data processing, and ensure the delivery of robust software solutions that support high-frequency trading, data analytics, and complex algorithms.
The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, with expertise in low-latency systems, trading algorithms, and financial technology. You should be a strategic thinker with the ability to manage technical teams and deliver innovative products in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership:
- Set the technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and grow the software engineering team to build and maintain high-performance, scalable trading platforms.
- Collaborate with the CEO and other senior leaders to establish the technical roadmap and prioritize key initiatives.
- Manage the technology budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet project timelines and business goals.
- Software Development & Architecture:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of trading systems, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, and able to handle high-frequency, real-time trading.
- Oversee the architecture of trading algorithms, market data processing systems, and back-end infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making and risk management.
- Drive the implementation of performance-enhancing techniques such as multithreading, distributed computing, and data pipeline optimization.
- Ensure all systems are designed to be fault-tolerant, with robust failover capabilities to minimize downtime and improve system resilience.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in the fintech and trading space, evaluating new approaches to optimize software performance, reduce latency, and improve functionality.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team, encouraging experimentation with new methodologies and tools.
- Promote best practices for software development, including agile methodologies, test-driven development (TDD), and version control.
- Performance Optimization & Scalability:
- Lead efforts to optimize system performance, focusing on reducing latency and improving throughput for high-frequency trading applications.
- Ensure scalability of systems to handle large volumes of data and complex computations without compromising speed or stability.
- Drive performance profiling and optimization initiatives across all critical components of the trading platform.
- Risk Management & Security:
- Collaborate with the risk and compliance teams to integrate best practices for data security and compliance with financial regulations.
- Oversee the development of secure software systems that meet the highest standards for transaction integrity, data privacy, and risk mitigation.
- Implement rigorous testing and monitoring systems to identify and address potential vulnerabilities in trading algorithms and data processing pipelines.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other departments to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that align with business needs.
- Collaborate with the operations and customer support teams to ensure software performance and user experience meet the highest standards.
- Provide technical leadership and advice to business stakeholders to ensure that technology choices align with overall business strategies.

- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team capable of delivering high-quality software products on time.

Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within fintech, trading, or financial technology.
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance trading systems, low-latency applications, or real-time data processing software.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in programming languages commonly used in trading platforms such as C++, Java, Python, or similar languages.
- In-depth knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and algorithms for performance optimization.
- Strong experience in building complex, low-latency systems, such as high-frequency trading applications, order routing systems, and real-time market data feeds.
- Expertise in database systems, including high-performance relational and NoSQL databases, and techniques for handling large-scale data sets efficiently.
- Knowledge of software testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
- Leadership & Personal Attributes:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performance engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
