Clerk I, Packaging - Syracuse, NY
The Pharmacy Operations Clerk is an instrumental role at Propel Syracuse because it ensures that our pharmacy operates efficiently while delivering a high-quality level of care. In the Pharmacy Packaging Clerk role, you will be processing and packaging prescriptions or paperwork with accuracy, attention to detail and efficiency. Essential Functions
- Assist with processing and packaging prescriptions or paperwork with accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency
- Prioritize or multitask to complete the processing for time-sensitive medications
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Performs duties of the Material Handler as required
- Pack 800 - 1000 prescriptions in an 8 hour shift (after 1 month in role and training completed)
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement “best practices” in all pharmacy activities
- Participate in the pharmacy’s performance improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Adherence to the assigned work schedule
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the role
- Ability to evaluate options and make efficient decisions
- Less than 1 year of packaging experience
- Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
- Computer skills that include proficiency with multiple programs and use of the internet and email
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day
- Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person communication 7-8 hours per day
- Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for 7-8 hours per day
- Ability to lift 50-60lbs
